Was the original - Child's Play (1988) - worth a look?
To be honest, it has been ages since I have seen this classic but I definitely had some rather mix feelings. In my opinion, it is in fact a rather stupid premise which is rather difficult to take seriously. Indeed, even though a doll can look pretty creepy, can it be a real threat? I’m not so sure.
Was this remake worth a look?
Once again, just as with the original version, the doll actually looked awful which was rather stupid according to me. Indeed, why anybody would actually buy such an ugly doll? It didn’t make sense to me. At least, even though I thought they used a lot of CGI, they actually used mostly some practical animatronic puppets which was pretty cool. It was also a smart move to have Chucky being voiced by Mark Hamill. Anyway, I didn’t care much for this remake after all and it only made me when to check again the original version.
