Release date (U.S.) : 12 September 2025 directed by : Francis Lawrence with : Cooper Hoffman, Mark Hamill, Judy Greer plot : A group of teenage boys compete in an annual contest known as "The Long Walk," where they must maintain a certain walking speed or get shot. Why do I want to see this ? When I was a kid growing up in the 90's, all my buddies were huge fans of Stephen King's books. They would read all his books one by one and talk about those for hours. However, as far as I was concerned, I was the only one who didn't care much for his stuff which was, in my opinion, some cheap horror garbage. Still, there was one of his books that I really loved and it was 'The Long Walk'. Back in the 2000's, Frank Darabont did get the rights which did sound super exciting but the guy took too long and these rights apparently relapsed at some point. To be honest, with Francis Lawrence at the helm, it probably won't be really amazing but, since I just love this story, I will have to watch it anyway.
