The action centers on Rigsby—the miserly, lecherous landlord of a rundown rooming house who becomes completely irresistible in the hands of comedy great Leonard Rossiter (The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin). And who could blame Rigsby for lusting after his long-term tenant Miss Jones (Frances de la Tour), who in turn lusts after anything in pants -- except Rigsby. With suave university student Philip (Don Warrington) lending his wry commentary on the proceedings, Rigsby gets religion, an unexpected inheritance, and -- most astonishingly -- a fiancé.
