Ricky, Lucy, and their best friends and neighbors Fred and Ethel Mertz (the delightful William Frawley and Vivian Vance) have a well-organized plan to get Lucy to the hospital as calmly and efficiently as possible. Naturally, mayhem erupts at the actual moment. The touch of Ricky arriving at the hospital in full tribal regalia is a stroke of brilliance.
