Description: In 1949, CBS-TV offered young film/radio actress Lucille Ball her own show. They had wanted her to do a version of her radio program, "My Favorite Husband" which she starred with actor Richard Derring but Lucy stuck to her guns demanding her real husband Desi Arnaz play opposite her, she won out and on October 15, 1951 the very first "I Love Lucy appeared.
