As the 12th Dragon Ball Z movie (1995) opens, a young demon causes a major accident at King Yemma's checkpoint for souls. Centuries of karmic sludge transform the demon into Janempa, a gargantuan monster who breaks down the barriers between dimensions, allowing the living and the dead to mingle. As Janempa resembles an enormous yellow Pokémon and is surrounded by what appear to be giant hard candies, he doesn't feel like much of a threat.
