Donald Watson was a British animal rights activist, a conscientious objector, a pacifist, a teacher, a co-creator of the word "vegan", and a co-founder of The Vegan Society (in November 1944). He was born in Mexborough, Yorkshire. He became a vegan in 1941. He lived 95 years.
