Amy Ryan was born in 1968 in the neighborhood of Queens, in New York City. Since childhood she attended the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Center in New York, and at the age of 17 he graduated from the High School of Performing Arts. On Broadway he had roles as the Tess in the play "The Sisters Rosensweigh", Natasha in the revival of 1997's "The Three Sisters", and Peggy in the revival of "The Women" 2001-2002's. He also worked in several works of regional theatres. Ryan was nominated for the Tony Award twice: for his portrayal of Sonya Alexandrovna in "Uncle Vanya" in 2000, and for the role of Stella Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire" of the year 2005, which performed with John C. Reilly. Before the cameras, made his debut in 1990 with a stake in the novel "As the World Turns", and since then could be seen as a guest on several series, including "Quantum Leap", "Sirens", "emergency (E.R.)", "Chicago Hope", "Homicide: Life on the Street", "Law and order", "Third Watch", "law and order: special victims unit", "Law and order: action Criminal", "The American Experience" and "Independent Lens", among others. He had roles also regular in "I ll Fly Away", which played Parkie Sasser in 1992, was Chloe Banks in "The Naked Truth" between 1995 and 1996, played Rebecca, Ellen and Paris in "100 Centre Street" between 2001 and 2002, is well remembered for the role of the Off. Beatrice 'Beadie' Russell in "The wire", and between 2008 and 2009 could see it in "The office", where played Holly Flax. Amy also worked in TV movies such as "In the Deep Woods", "Remembering Sex" and "M.O.N.Y.". On the big screen, their cr credits include participations in movies like "Roberta", she was seen alongside Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo in "You Can Count on Me", took part in the thriller "Keane", in which also included Damian Lewis and Abigail Breslin, in "The war of the worlds," starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning, in the drama "Truman Capote"with Philip Seymour Hoffman, in "Gone Baby Gone", where Helene McCready played and worked with Morgan Freeman, Michelle Monaghan and Casey Affleck in "Dani, a type of luck", with Juliette Binoche and Steve Carell, had a small role in the thriller by Clint Eastwood, starring Angelina Jolie "Changeling", and most recently was seen in the drama "The Missing Person" and the comedy "Bob Funk". His next projects include the films "Jack Goes Boating" and "The city of the storms", that they be released in 2010, and also is working on the comedy "Win win", which is still in preproduction stage. Ryan was nominated for the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Oscars for his work in the film "Gone Baby Gone". With respect to his personal life, with 39-year-old Amy had her first daughter, Georgia Gracie, with her fiance, Eric Slovin. Ryan is also very friendly by the actress Patricia Clarkson.
