Elizabeth of York was the daughter of Edward IV and his Queen Elizabeth Woodville. Married to Henry VII from 1486 until her death, she was the first Tudor Queen, uniting the Yorkist and Lancastrian rivals.
She was a good natured woman who was able to tolerate the power of her mother in law, Margaret. Most of her children, including eldest son Arthur Prince of Wales, died young, but another son became Henry VIII.
