Boulder, Colorado (The Weekly Vice) -- Brian Bonsall, the 26 year old former 'Family Ties' actor who played 'Andy Keaton' when he was a child, has been named in a bench warrant that was issued after he failed to show up for court.
According to court records, Bonsall was ordered to appear in court regarding an alleged probation violation stemming from a conviction against him for abusing his girlfriend.
Bonsall pleaded guilty in September to third-degree assault charges and was sentenced to two years of probation. Bonsall had been arrested in March of 2007 after police say he poured alcohol in his girlfriend's face while she was sleeping and assaulted her when she tried to leave their apartment.
According to the probation violation complaint, Bonsall had been ordered several times to pay the cost of his court-ordered domestic violence classes. He then signed a contract, promising to pay for the classes by June 10th.
Also listed in the complain was a breath test Bonsall was administered by court order that registered a positive reading. He then reportedly skipped a urine test he was advised he needed to submit to.
Bonsall, who resides in Boulder Colorado, has had multiple alcohol-related charges filed against him through the years, including DUI and under-aged drinking. At the time of this report, he has not yet been taken into police custody as a result of the court ordered bench warrant for his arrest.
