For the 1960 Rome Olympics, in the E42 (or EUR) the Velodromo Olimpico (Olympic velodrome) was built, projected by Cesare Ligini, Dagoberto Ortensi and Silvano Ricci. The Velodromo Olimpico hosted the track cycling competitions and some matches (including the final) of the hockey tournament.
