The underpinnings of my first burlesque costume, 1992.
I’d take off the skirt and corset, and then the bra behind this big powder puff. I always wore a corset as part of my costumes, not because it was authentic to 1930s/40s era burlesque (that would have been a burlesque dancer’s granny’s underwear!) but because I worked for a corset maker and they’d make me the full costume with the corset as the base of the dress in exchange for modeling.
