Gyo Gujikawa's Multicultural Art

Although she saw herself more accomplished as a commercial artist, Gyo Fujikawa successfully introduced very young children to a diverse world and to each other. She forged the way for other illustrators to depict children of many cultures playing and interacting naturally, long before multicultural picture books became politically correct.
