In the mid-1950s, Gloria met the iconic singer at the Copacabana Club in New York when she was stuck in her marriage to Leopold Stokowski. Sinatra soon called and asked her out to dinner, giving her the encouragement to move on from her marriage.
“I said ‘Yes’ and that was it,” she said. The relationship fizzled after a few weeks but they remained lifelong friends.
