Tupac Shakur, who not only rocked the Italian label and rapped about it on a regular basis but also became good friends with its founder, Gianni Versace. Gianni said Tupac was one of his biggest inspirations. He described Pac as "the most beautiful man alive."
He was invited to Milan Men’s Fashion Week by VIBE Magazine’s Karla Radford to attend the Spring/Summer shows. He arrived in Milan with his girlfriend Kidada, and two bodyguards. Tupac's main bodyguard, the late Frank Alexander and Michael Moore.
The day of his arrival, 2Pac went to Gianni Versace’s mansion to meet the designer. He then performed ‘California Love’ at the Versace Spring/Summer fashion show wearing a full leather outfit, courtesy of Gianni Versace. “Versace loved 2Pac and gave him so much gear it was crazy,” according to Frank Alexander.
That week, Tupac took over Milan Men’s Fashion Week: Romeo Gigli, Versace, Valentino, and Gianfranco Ferré.
