Etta James with David Hood & Marvell Thomas photographed by House Of Fame LLC during rehearsals at Fame Studios in Alabama (1967).
Etta James’ career went through a slump in the mid-1960s, but in 1967 she began recording with producer Rick Hall at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Adopting a tougher, grittier style, she bounced back onto the R&B charts with the tunes “Tell Mama” and "I’d Rather Go Blind". The album “Tell Mama” was highly successful.
