On December 7, 1953, Audrey Hepburn graced the cover of LIFE magazine. Titled, "Audrey Hepburn, Many Sided Charmer," the 9-page spread featured the photographs of Mark Shaw and explored Hepburn's life on set and at home.
It was in this article which Hepburn remarked, "I have to be alone very often. I'd be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That's how I refuel." The spread also revealed that outside of work, Hepburn took ballet classes three nights a week, designed costumes, and read "classical" dramas.
