British photographer Eric Skipsey took these lovely photographs of Marilyn Monroe at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 1961
Photographer Eric Skipsey was sent on assignment to the Beverly Hills Hotel in 1961 to photograph Marilyn Monroe.
When he arrived her people said to him , "You only have 10 minutes" but in her inimitable way she said to him "Take all the time you need."
The refreshments were champagne & the dog pictured with Marilyn was a gift from Frank Sinatra to Marilyn after she divorced from her husband Arthur Miller , she named him "Maf Honey" as a humorous reference to Sinatra's alleged Mafia connections.
The resulting pictures are absolutely classic & stunning !
Through these photographs Marilyn also fulfilled the wish of a 14 year-old girl who was passing away from bone cancer.
She sent a letter to Marilyn asking for an autographed photo of her and her pet Maf.
Marilyn arranged the session to be held at The Beverly Hills Hotel and she was on time for it.
Marilynโs letter to the young girl was signed and sent two weeks later inscribed with : "From Marilyn Monroe to Barbara Heinz.
With love.โ
