It was her first public appearance following a head-on car collision in Nashville she and her brother Sam were involved in in June of that year.
The impact of the crash threw Cline into the windshield nearly killing her. Visibly scarred on the forehead and face Patsy wore wigs and makeup to hide the scars up until her death in a plane crash in March of 1963.
