“Sharon was living just around the corner from me, in an Eaton Place Aparment rented for her by Filmways. It was hung with paintings by David Hockney, who had only just begun to make his mark, and she shared it with her woman voice coach and a Yorkshire terrier puppy called Guinness. We arranged to have dinner together, and that was when my view of her changed. —Roman Polanski.
