A very good movie

Since I kept hearing some really good things about this flick, I was really eager to check it out. On top of that, I have noticed that Werner Herzog had built up a pretty good reputation as a documentary maker so I had some rather high expectations concerning this fim. Eventually, I wasnโ€™t disappointed and, in fact, it must be one of the most peculiar documentaries I have ever seen. Indeed, the story it was based on was quite interesting but I believed that the movie about this tale was actually even more fascinating. Herzog succeeded in giving a fascinating muti-faceted portrait of this man, Timothy Treadwell, and the whole thing was quite an achievement. Indeed, Treadwell is shown sometimes as a heroic environmentalist but then also as a crazy paranoid megalomaniac. When watching this picture, you basically witness how he first loses contact with his own humanity and then literally loses his own life, gets his girlfriend killed and also the bears he was supposedly protecting. Eventually, you never really sure if you should pity or admire this man but there is no denying that there was something quite fascinating about him. To conclude, I thought it was a spellbinding picture and it is a definitely worth a look.
