Review of Hot Fuzz

A real treat for SPACED fans. Essentially the film that Shaun of The Dead should have been.

Once upon a time Edgar Wight directed Simon Pegg (and his friend Nick Frost) in a seminal television comedy SPACED - a show that featured quick comedy, fast plot twists, and jokes that build on previous jokes for the entire episode. One of the funniest and clever things ever to reach a television screen.

Sadly, the trio's first big screen outing - Shaun of the Dead - wasn't as nearly as much fun. Hot Fuzz rectifies this, and is every bit as good as SPACED ever was.

Whereas Shaun of The Dead tended to drag in places, Hot Fuzz is much closer to the original SPACED feel. A punchy, quirky, fast paced comedy with a reasonable budget that could be spent on guns and explosions.

The film features a star studied supporting cast - Bill Nightly, Timothy Dalton, plus most of the the British comedy A-list in one role or another.

I won't describe the plot, or spoil the jokes. See it. You'll enjoy it.
