The Zerg: Biology as a Tool of Destiny

The Zerg are the antithesis of human thought.
They constitute a hive mind, a perfect biological network where individuals do not exist, only functions, where life and death have no meaning outside of the collective purpose.

Guided by the Overmind, the Zerg represent absolute evolution, an obsession with the assimilation of all useful life.
Their goal is not conquest by power, but by genetic necessity: to achieve perfection through the fusion of the strongest, the purest, the most adaptable.

Their nature contains an extreme Darwinian echo—"only the best survive"—but also a disturbing philosophical undertone:
the idea that individuality may be the greatest obstacle to universal survival.

The emergence of Sarah Kerrigan, who becomes the Queen of Blades, gives the Zerg a new dimension. She embodies the synthesis of intelligence, psychic power, and biological brutality.
Her transformation symbolizes the loss of humanity in exchange for immortality, and the tragedy of those who become monsters to survive.
