Review of Anora

It’s only been 10 years since my last review, and I must admit, getting back to writing like this feels a bit strange. I'm trying to reconnect with the joy I once had in doing certain things that got lost over time—and writing reviews was one of them. So here we go!

The movie is just okay. That pretty much sums it up. It's far from being worthy of even being nominated for the 2025 Oscars. I watched it in the theater and, honestly, aside from a 20-minute stretch where I laughed at the comedy scenes, the movie is completely predictable and boring. It's not a bad film, but I don’t think it's worth the price of a movie ticket. Save it for when it’s available on streaming and you have nothing better to watch.
