A good movie

I already saw this movie but since it was a while back and since I have it on DVD, I thought I might as well check it out again. Since it is considered one of the best Star Trek movies, the first time around, I had some rather high expectations. Well, to be honest, I was at the time actually slightly disappointed. I mean, sure, the story was indeed better than with its predessor, the acting was also improved (even though Kirstie Alley was rather ridiculous) and they had a hell of a bad guy with Khan but still, I thought the whole thing still looked cheap and pretty cheesy. Furthermore, the beginning was rather messy but it had probably to do with the fact that this movie was actually a sequel of an episode from the TV show, which, of course, I haven't seen. Still, there was some good stuff like the Genesis and, above all, Ricardo Montalban who really kicked some major ass with his performance. Eventually, I wonder why this movie is loved so much by the Star Trek fans but it was pretty entertaining anyway. To conclude, even though I think it is slightly overrated, it is still a decent and fun SF flick and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Star Trek.
