A good movie

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since I kept hearing some pretty good things about it, I was quite eager to check it out. Basically, it was some kind of character study, showing how a couple might evolve after a near tragedy. And I guess, that's what we do, the spoiled privileged Western people, we tend to over think and over analyse everything since we didn't have to face a war on our soil for already 70 years, we didn't have to face hunger or some other massive dramatic situation. As a result, we play such scenarios like 'what would you do if you were drowning? Would you save yourself of your children?' But even though the avalanche was really scary, it was eventually rather harmless and nobody got hurt so you might wonder why the characters wouldn't just laugh about it and move on with their life. Furthermore, another tricky thing was that you never get to see this family before, in their every day life, which make it rather difficult to judge them. It was also rather odd that the mother would discuss this matter with some total strangers who couldn't possible take a position since they didn't know her and her husband. Also, I wasn't so sure about the ending scene. Obviously, it was to reverse the roles as the mother was leaving the bus on her own but her family came with her so I don't think it really worked. Anyway, it was still an interesting film which developed some nice ideas and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like theย  genre.
