To be honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Nicolas Cage, I thought I might as well check it out. In fact, it was Cage's 2nd movie and his very first leading part. Well, to be honest, I actually ended up with some mixed feelings about the damned thing. I mean, first of all, the plot was rather thin and it was involving such vapid and shallow characters. But, then, on the other hand, I have to admit that the characters were actually quite realistic and the whole thing did feel genuine. I also enjoyed the fact that Nicolas Cage and Deborah Foreman both looked like some average teenagers or young adults and not some like top-models. Still, I thought it was so annoying that Julie dropped Randy just because of peer pressure, especially to go back with a major douchebag but, on the other hand, if I would be honest with myself, it might be how it goes in real life. Anyway, eventually, they still ended up together after all with a rather lame happy-ending. To conclude, even if it was nothing really amazing, I guess it might still be worth a look, at least, if you like the genre.ย
