About 15 minutes in, I didn't even realize the movie was in German and that I was reading subtitles. The story just sucks you right in, and by the half-way mark, you find yourself at the edge of the seat, anticipating every next scene in the film. Daniel and Julia are two of the finest young actors out there there right now, not just in Germany but the world. Daniel is from 'Goodbye Lenin' fame and Julia was incredible in this film as well as Sophie Scholl, and has a certain girl-next-door beauty that no one in Hollywood can seem to match.
The plot may sound a bit corny, a group of rebels break into rich people's homes and re-arrange their furniture and other objects, but once the reasoning behind it is given, it all makes sense and the audience is right with them in their 'cause'. And when things go very wrong in one operation, you find yourself trying to think ahead to how they can get out of the mess they got into, because you honestly feel sympathy for the gang 'The Edukators'. Add in a kidnapping, a love triangle story, and strong anti-corporate anti-wealth morals and you have yourself world-class cinema magic.
