Review of Jaws 3

Despite the downhill spiral of the series this actually has a pretty decent cast. It also happens to be the one where they start super imposing the shark into scenes that it isn't actually in which is kind of lame. This is Joe Alves only movie and we don't need to really guess why that is. Carl Gottlieb once again returns to write this sequel. Richard Matheson who is responsible for many quite good films joins the writers group for this. I don't really know anything much about the other writers as I haven't seen anything else from them. The premise of the whole thing does seem a little interesting though silly.

Yeah so that was pretty terrible! The story was awful. The execution was poor. I feel bad for the actually decent actors who took part in this. It did have some decent deaths though. The way the whole thing looked was just painful to endure. The shark was way too stiff at pretty much all times. Even the shark from part two was better than this one. They truly had some terrible animatronics for this entry. There were a lot of dumb moments that were easily avoidable. Given all that these brothers have been through you would think they would avoid open water and sharks altogether.

The acting from the well known actors wasn't bad, but the script they had to deal with made them seem amateurish. Surprisingly this was Lea Thompson's first film! I swear it's crazy to see big stars start off in stuff like this. The characters make a lot of dumb decisions and seem to really act against who they are at times. I mean seriously the whole set up here shouldn't even happen given the history of the Brody family. I guess the writers just didn't care about their continuity.

This was definitely one of the most unnecessary and illogical sequels. There is no reason it should exist given the history of the characters. The shark effects were terrible. Really the only good thing were the deaths. It was interesting to see big stars here, but the script really took them down. It's a waste of time and should definitely be avoided.
