A very good movie

Between 2000 and 2001, I spent a year in Cambridge as an exchange student with the Erasmus program. Back then, I spent a year in the local YMCA living with some other students from all over Europe and I had a real blast. The very next year, I found out that Cédric Klapish was coming up with a movie about a French guy spending a year as an Erasmus student in Barcelona so, of course, I really had to see the damned thing and I really loved it. Indeed, the first half was just pitch-perfect. Seriously, everything described by the main character was exactly like I remembered it and it brought back some really sweet memories. I especially liked the fact that all the characters were played by some actors coming from the same country as their character which was something actually rather unique. I have to admit it, the whole thing was often pretty random but it made sense. The only thing that didn't really work in my opinion was his affair with this French married woman. I mean, Judith Godréche was quite gorgeous but this whole sub-plot actually belonged to a different movie. In fact, it did make sense that he cheated on his girlfriend (indeed, almost all the people who had a girlfriend or a boyfriend at home ended up cheating on them at some point or another when I was an exchange student in England) but it would have worked better if he did it with some local girl or some other exchange student. Anyway, even though it wasn't really flawless, I really loved the damned thing and I think it is definitely worth a look, especially if you went through some similar experience like I did.
