Review of Cell

I have been waiting for this to come out forever. I loved the book. I also get my geek on when any Stephen King book gets an adaptation. It helps that there are some great actors. Oh this is directed by Tod Williams who did the second Paranormal Activity film. At least it was one of the more enjoyable ones. Adam Alleca also wrote the Last House on the Left remake. The opening credits are a bit long, but at least it progresses the story. Well they get into the mix rather quickly. I'm loving it already. The only thing that bothers me is when zombie-like people beat women. It makes me uncomfortable when they do that instead of biting. This opening sequence is wild though. Hahah Samuel L. Jackson's reaction is comical! Ah the references that only the book readers will get. There is always someone that has to speak too soon. Lol that one just hit a tree! Oh god his leg! So this is starting to feel pretty cheesy on The Happening level. I actually thought that was pretty fun though. This one I'm beginning to feel unsure. It has great moments and such. I think the cheesy moments/dialogue are kind of out of place here. Oh yes one of the best moments was put in! Well at least it was quick and hopefully painless. That is just plain wrong. It would be my definition of a nightmare for sure. Well that is certainly peculiar. Wilbur Fitzgerald has to be wearing a wig here lol. I swear they do that shot way too often in movies. Well that's a disappointing way to go. That's a smart idea. Man come on it was clearly a trap! Yeah he was clearly going mental. So that was a bit underwhelming. The ending was a bit convoluted although I think maybe I got what happened there. I had waited so long for this only to be rather disappointed with the outcome. Most of it was rather boring sadly. It felt so empty. As if they spent most of their budget on the actors instead of creating the environment. I wish they had included some more aspects of the books. There were some great scenes don't get me wrong. It's just nowhere near what I had hoped for. Anyways I honestly don't think I would recommend this one to fans or anyone looking to find something new to check out.
