Thoughts before I watched this.
1. Most people came here for Samuel L. Jackson.
2. While he is a great reason I came for Ruth Negga.
3. Just something about her that really pulls me in.
4. Well besides being of Ethiopian descent of course.
5. Maybe it's her eyes.
6. There are a few other great cast members like Tom Wilkinson and Deborah Kara Unger.
7. The writer/director is David Weaver whom I've never heard of.
8. His co-writer is Elan Mastai who also worked on What If (which was pretty terrible).
9. I am doubtful that this will be good, but we shall see.
"After twenty years in prison, Foley is finished with the grifter's life. When he meets an elusive young woman named Iris, the possibility of a new start looks real. But his past is proving to be a stubborn companion."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. Whoa that was definitely an interesting start.
2. There's the man.
3. Now I know it's only a minute in, but I was hoping she would be in the opening haha.
4. Oh fun it has a narrative... *sighs*
5. I guess it works here though.
6. Parole officer sir that better be just tobacco you're rolling up.
7. Yeah life moves on while you're in prison.
8. Okay five minutes in now still no Ruth.
9. Oh really is that all you want?
10. There she is now I'm satisfied.
11. What's wrong with you Foley?!
12. Hey isn't that one of the teachers from Degrassi?
13. Tom Wilkinson nice!
14. Oh damn that was quite unexpectedly gory.
15. It's interesting to see this kind of story done differently.
16. That's definitely a tough call to make.
17. Younger than he is now seems a bit unlikely.

28. Such dysfunctional people, but they do make a cute couple.

30. Yeah it was kind of obvious because she said something then.

33. Now that's what I was expecting from this.

53. Deborah Kara Unger's character comes off odd to me.
54. Well that was slightly unexpected, but having such a well known actor barely in a movie he would have had to be what it's all about.

77. I mean it's a bit cheesy but sweet.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. I appreciate Ruth Negga even more.
2. Even when Samuel L. Jackson doesn't want to be a badass he still is.
3. The acting was pretty damn good.
4. I thought all the characters were really interesting.
5. It doesn't rely on action, but when things happen you can bet there will be quite a lot of blood.
6. The story has been done before though unfortunately.
7. Sure many stories have been told over and over.
8. Oldboy though was already remade albeit after this, but they both had Samuel L. Jackson.
9. Also this isn't quite as awesome as the first one of it's type I saw.
10. I mean it's still a decent one time watch.
11. It's really nothing special.
12. It does seem that maybe this was part of the reason Ruth Negga was in Agents of SHIELD.
13. Anyways if you decide to watch it I'm sure you will find it is entertaining.
