TIMELINE JAPAN | 1996 - What Happened in Japan in the 90s?

You know what? Probably my favorite year of the Japanese 90s so far! Because honestly, this is one of the most culturally dense years in the history of Japan. No, seriously! 1996 got all the pocket monsters (both egg-shaped and none-egg-shaped) you could ever wish for. One of the most iconic and important game consoles ever made… yes, again…, a website that changed the Japanese internet forever, the first edition of the country’s most beloved gaming event. It has unforgettable drama (both in the form of entertainment and ACTUAL real-life drama), a scandal followed by a 4-hour-long apology… and the launch of a certain product that changed the way we watch movies at home… forever.
