Hello, and welcome to Episode Two of Rock N Roll Book Club, where #booktube meets the #vinylcommunity...where music and literature hang out together on YouTube. On this channel, we discuss books by and about musicians and the music industry.
On this episode, Dave, Jen and Shelley discuss 'Lips Unsealed' by Belinda Carlisle. Belinda shot to fame in 1981 as the lead singer of The Go-Go's. The band was wildly successful and is credited as the first all female band to score a number one record with an original composition. After hits like "We Got The Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," "Vacation," and "Head Over Heels," the band broke up in 1985. Belinda had a successful solo career after the breakup. 'Lips Unsealed' is a revealing memoir where Belinda reveals many of her darkest secrets.
