He's seemingly everywhere you look once you're aware of him, however his prominence is not to be understated, as his influence on storytelling is evident across mediums throughout history. Indeed, it's quite likely that you've come across him yourself, but over five hundred years from his conceptualisation, why is this still the case? In this video, I explore his infamy by discussing the immortal trickster's relevance in the past and in today's world, as well as the seemingly cryptic messages hidden within the novel he hails from: Journey to the West.
