Henry T. King, Jr. (1981) interviews Nazi war criminal Albert Speer (part 1)

These are audiotaped excerpts from a July 18, 1981, interview that Henry T. King, Jr., a former U.S. prosecutor at Nuremberg, conducted in English with Nazi war criminal Albert Speer. In 1946, the International Military Tribunal convicted Speer, Hitler's Armaments Minister, of international crimes and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment, which he served (1946-66) in Spandau prison. In these excerpts, Speer speaks of the Nuremberg trial, of Adolf Hitler, and of his (Speer's) wish to be remembered as an architect. Speer died a few weeks after this interview.
