Joi Lansing

Joi Lansing was born Joyce Renee Brown on April 6, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a young lady who developed, physically, early as a teen. Because of her striking good looks, she began to model and was extremely successful throughout the 1940s. It was only natural that her physical assets eventually landed her on the silver screen. Known as a Hollywood party girl, among her many flings were Mickey Rooney, George Raft and Frank Sinatra. She was considered for a regular continuing character role in the television series Adventures of Superman (1952) after the success of her role as "Superman's Wife" in the final season, filmed in the fall of 1957, but the series was canceled; she might have returned to the series in 1959-1960 if only George Reeves had lived to make it.

Joi Lansing was diagnosed with breast cancer, and died at age 43 on August 7, 1972 in Santa Monica, California.
