NEW YORK — Myla Dalbesio creates. This drive of hers is evident in her work whether she is in front of camera, behind it, or in the case of the March 2016 issue of Playboy, both places simultaneously. Myla’s creative impulse runs so deep it borders on the compulsive. “It’s always been such a huge part of my life and it’s not something I can really turn off,” admits Myla. “And I think, in addition to that, if I was only modeling, I would go insane.” Coming from a family of artists that included a photographer mother, a musician father, and a grandfather who was a visual artist, finding expression in a variety of media was normal whether it was in a dark room or diving in dumpsters for found objects. That Myla finds balance in her life as a model and artist is not at all surprising. It has never been a question of one or the other because all paths have validity in Myla’s body of work.
