He joined the chorus of people urging the Japanese government to apologize for its wartime atrocities.
In an interview with Japan′s Kyodo News Agency，... the Japanese novelist said that the act of apologizing should not be regarded as shameful.
He added that his government should acknowledge its past wrongdoing and apologize until the affected nations accept the apology.
