Just two days after the agony of his Wimbledon final defeat, the Scot took girlfriend Kim Sears for a night out to be part of the studio audience for Mock the Week.
Most stars in the Scot's position probably wouldn't have chosen to make an appearance at a biting satire on the week's affairs.
But Andy had a ball even when the jokes were at his expense.
And after Tuesday night's recording session, he told fans on Facebook: "Went to watch Mock the Week being filmed last night, so funny...
"They didn't pick on me that much either, haha. It's on tomorrow night on BBC, get involved."
Andy, 25, was still smiling when he met host Dara O'Briain and panelists Andy Parsons, Milton Jones, Hugh Dennis and Chris Addison.
Dara wrote on Twitter: "Very enjoyable recording of Mock The Week. It really adds something when the actual newsmaker is in the audience."
Many of the fans wished Andy well for the Olympics, where he'll return to Wimbledon to try to win gold for Team GB.
But he and Kim plan to take a well-earned break before the Games.
Andy, who has a home in Miami, Florida, said: "I certainly won't pick up a tennis racquet this week and I don't know if I'll stay in the country.
"There's a good chance I'll try to find some sunshine. I may fly to Miami or go somewhere in Europe with my girlfriend and our dogs.
"The disappointment will linger for as long as it needs to. It's not a process I'll rush.
"Sometimes getting back on the court quickly might work, but it can also have completely the opposite effect.
"I have to take the right amount of time off, let my body and mind fully recover."
