[BlackTree TV - New York] BlackTree TV sits down w/ Ryan Gosling to talk Crazy Stupid Love. RYAN GOSLING (Jacob) has been honored for his work in a broad range of roles in both acclaimed independent features and major motion pictures. He earned an Academy Award® nomination and won an Independent Spirit Award, both for Best Actor, for his performance in the 2006 release "Half Nelson." For his portrayal of a dedicated but troubled inner-city teacher, Gosling also garnered nominations for Screen Actors Guild (SAG)® and Critics' Choice Awards; was named Best Actor at the Stockholm and Seattle Film Festivals; and won a National Board of Review Award for Best Male Breakthrough Performance. The following year, Gosling received Golden Globe, SAG Award® and Critics' Choice Award nominations for his work in the title role of the indie film "Lars and the Real Girl." In 2010, he starred opposite Michelle Williams in the romantic drama "Blue Valentine," for which he earned another Golden Globe nomination, and his third Critics' Choice Award nomination for Best Actor. He will next be seen in Nicolas Winding Refn's action drama "Drive," which premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where it was nominated for a Palme D'Or and won the award for Best Director. The film is slated for release this September. His upcoming films also include "The Ides of March," in which Gosling stars alongside George Clooney, who is also directing from his own screenplay. Gosling made his feature film debut in the 2000 true-life drama "Remember the Titans," starring Denzel Washington. His breakthrough role came the following year, when he starred in the provocative independent drama "The Believer," which won the 17 Grand Jury Prize at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. Gosling's portrayal of a virulent anti-Semite who is revealed to be Jewish brought him his first Independent Spirit Award nomination, as well as a London Film Critics' Circle Award nomination and the Best Foreign Actor Award from the Russian Film Critics Guild.
