The fifth video in a collection of tributes to classic screen teams.
Another classic screen team. They appeared together in 7 movies in the 1940's (This Gun for Hire, The Blue Dahlia, The Glass Key, Saigon) although in 3 of the movies (Variety Girl, Star Spangled Rhythm and Duffy's Tavern) they appear as themselves.
They were not close offscreen. Veronica Lake stated in her memoirs, "We'd arrive on the set early each morning. Alan would nod and say, 'Good morning, Ronnie.' 'Hi Alan.' We'd go to wardrobe and makeup, play our scenes together, and go back to our dressing rooms to take off the makeup and wardrobe. 'Night, Ronnie.' 'Night, Alan, see you tomorrow."
Never the less, they made many memorable movies. Unfortunately, only one is available on Region 1 DVD- This Gun for Hire.
