What's the history behind your username?

« Prev12 Next »
Keggers 17 years ago at Apr 5 11:34 -
I had this great idea for a thread! What's the history behind your username? How'd you come up with it? Did someone help you?

Well, I had a hard time figuring out what to do for my username, but then I remembered that when I was a kid, my Dad used to call me Keggers and I thought that'd be a cute username so I chose that.

oh god, please don't ask this of the anime crowd. please, for the love of god, no....

mine's my fave car, Honda Prelude '92

Devious Phenomenon 17 years ago at Apr 5 15:12 -
Well... there are 2 usernames.... your name thats right up there(look at Prelude's name) and then the profile URL (Prelude's Profile URL name is Bwde)

that would be an example of what Yosho meant

I chose Wolf-Paw because I love wolves, simple as that.

For my URL name, Kin ookami, I chose that because it means Golden Wolf in japanese... I had THOUGHT (Thanks to a messed up translator) that Kin had meant forbidden, but it meant golden ^^'

I am gunna change my username to Ippiku ลŒkami, because that is how you spell wolf in Japanese(I could nnever figure out how to do the O thing lol) and it means Lone Wolf ^^'

my Previous name was Yama as you know. Yama means mountain in japanese, the japanese god of death, the ruler of the underworld, and apparently a 5 star restaurant lol XD

I love food ^^ so it works every way!

plus, I had made a character named Yama Yurenshi and I wanted to use him a lot ^^ along with a lot of other characters I finished(I recently finished 4-5 character pics, now I just need to work up bios) and so for quite a while I used Yama_Yurenshi, I have gone back and forth between names, but Yama has always been prominent in it. This is the third time I have not had Yama in the name lol. (AMAZING!!!)

I Probably just bored everyone to death didnt I?

This isn't necessarily anime though, it could have been posted in General Discussion.

Well, a long long time ago when we first got the internet in our house I had to make an email account address thing. At first I opted for chibiusa, I was quite infatuated in that whole Sailor Moon business at the time, but that was taken and even at an early age I had a great distaste for numbers in usernames, so I had to put a y in there and thus chibiyusa was born! I've just been using it ever since for the most part. I have one or two other names I go by but I keep those sekrit.

Thilian's just a name I made up. One 'L' straight form the get-go. I don't use any other usernames, really, except on a blog or two and on instances where I happen to use my birth name.

It started as a joke that I'm too embarrased to tell you about. Well, half a joke anyway. But I still liked the name after the novelty wore off and I use it just about everywhere, with one exception because they don't allow spaces or non-letter characters.

I'm not sure what you're reffering to. It is possible there are one or two others out there with the same username. I never really bothered coming up with an original name that I liked.
Phil 17 years ago at Apr 5 20:57 -
Username is from a Blur song off the album Modern Life is Rubbish. The display name is my own. Original idea that, eh?

Wolf-Paw, I'd implore you to stick with your current name rather than put up an obnoxious Japanese username. Nothing singles someone out as a clone who should be ignored like a long winded japanese name! You've even got the avatar to match!

My name is actually a contraction of a computer game that I saw listed in a very old Playstation once. Brahma Force: The Assault on Beltlogger 9. It sounded like the worst game in the world and I made a joke out of it with my best bud that has stood the test of time to this day!

There was this one time that I was apart of this site, and there were all these little 12 year olds abusing the site and knowledge in general, and thus DefenderOfKnowledge was born.

Oh wait, that was here. ;)

Originally I had a different name which was more like a status than a name. Anyway, after I put my account on hold for months and I came back. I decided to get a name going.

I can't remember it coming about but my best mates described me as an Antagonist as I constantly oppose them and the way they like things done. Thats the beauty of my friendships in the real world, I can act like a complete cunt and it doesn't even matter. Thats love for you.

Oh and my RP story goes along the lines of me murdering loved ones and then trying to stop the hero.

from wikipedia:

"Jap is a term originally used as an English abbreviation of the word "Japanese." Today it is regarded as an ethnic slur, though English speaking countries differ in the degree they consider the term offensive. Japanese Americans have come to find the term controversial or offensive, even when used as an abbreviation. In the past, Jap was not considered primarily offensive; however, after the events of World War II, the term became derogatory."

as in, 'Rap the Jap' and 'Let's blast the Jap clean off the Map', actual slogans used during WWII.

Ooo Ooo! I learned that from the book Jinn! It was about WW2 and the guys always referred to the Japanese as Japs, lolz
The japanese didn't like it ^^ but then again, not much of a choice when there is an insane reincarnation of the four 'Perfect Humans' back from Sparta time roaming around killing your men in the sickest ways possible

My username (deliciousway) comes from a song by ่‹บ69ใ€‚; I'm not their biggest fan but I really liked the song and the title.

Nono is a just a nickname. I don't really like using my lame Finnish first name on teh intarwebz so I just picked one that resembles it.

Mine comes from my Step-Dad nicknaming me Strange Warrior. I've shortened it to Warrior though... Some people call me S.W. though.
SuperSpongy 17 years ago at Apr 11 19:11 -
Mine's pretty simple, 2 of my favorite things combined;

Superman + Spongebob = SuperSpongy

Ta-da.

I suppose I could draw my own little avatar accordingly, but I like this one that shows me on my sweet ride as a kid.

I could have gone with some anatomical term, or Latin muscle name. Soleus, Sartorius, rostral, but that relates to my work and it seems a bit silly to stick in Latin, and kind of snobby to put in medical terms, so... I stuck with cartoons and comics.
