I'll just open a new general post that says it's really disappointing. I've been using Listal for years and since we've, er, "upgraded" I haven't used it hardly at all.

Sorry that you don't like the new site but what specifically do you find disappointing?

It's terrible on mobile. You have to scroll forever. I liked the points. They are either completely gone or hard to find. I find it harder to make a list as well.

i understand that some people may not like the new looks, but in my honest opinion the way that most people have been commenting about it just sounds like dumb tantrums to me, all they know to say is that how much they dont like it but when it comes to actually doing actual constructive criticism nothing dead silence, people have to realize that perfecting something is not built on complaining.

PS: the mobile version does need some work though

1. Points and ranks are gone, I would want those to come back
2. Everything feels too large like it's a mobile site
3. Like everyone else said, the mobile site ITSELF needs work, but I'm not complaining about that because it's new and I understand that

Not sure where to ask, but did this update made profiles marked as 'adult'? Just noticed Sydney Maler was marked as an 'adult' profile, while it wasn't before.

@Lydia, the points are not gone, they are just not visible in the mobile version. In the standard version, you still can check your points when you go to your account.

I still come here to look at photos and vote for them but since the change I have little interest in making any new lists. It use to be very easy for me to use my phone and make lists here but that's no longer true and now its not nearly as much fun.

i'm really disappointed by the new site because i can't do any list anymore with my PS3 and i can't even vote either it's always bogging.
i was creating about 3 to 4 list each week for years and now i didn't do any list in more then a month... this new site is not fun anymore. : (

I actually find if I try to create a list when using google chrome or internet explorer, it just doesn't work when you try to add items to the list.

Issues I have with the new site:

1. I'm getting very frustrated with the list editor.

-The loading times are incredibly slow.
-Items keep moving around at their own will and previously deleted items keep coming back.
-When I change my background to a white self and click an item is brings me to the main page of the site and not page of the actual item.

2. Backgrounds on profile pages do not display correctly.

3. The mobile version of the site is a complete mess.

4. The image pages for items lack consistency in their layout.

5. The item history section does not display the entire history of an item.

6. Collection pages also lack consistency (i.e, on any movie collection page, under the section titled 'Most watched actors & actresses', the top row displays 7 actors, while the bottom row displays 5 actors with two blank spaces).

7. Many film titles are still lacking or have no release date.

1. If you are frustrated with new list note editor, you might want to use the old editor instead. You can set it as default editor in your profile settings.

3. I am not using the mobile version currently, I just tested it a bit with Listal Beta. Anyways, I might be wrong, but I think part of the problem lies in using the same Listal site as both desktop (horizontal view) and mobile (vertical view). I guess a dedicated "m.listal.com" site would allow a better user experience. On the other hand, Tom gave some reasons to have one site instead of two (it was in a thread on the now gone betalistal sub-forum).

4. Image pages. I see what you mean, but personally I don't think the lack of consistency is a big deal.

6. I noticed it too, now there is room for 14 Most Watched... Yet, not a big deal either, is it?

7. Absolutely true. Missing or wrong movie release date IS a big deal, in my book. This is a perfect example of a nasty issue users have been complaining about for ages and that was never fixed, while adding new features like the new fancy editor few users seem to care about.

I've raised two defects compared with the old version, but no acknowledgement or fix schedule. I think after many years of use I will be looking for an alternative now. It's a shame.

Just use the old editor if you don't like the new one.

Personally I thought the old site (full desktop version) on mobile was a complete nightmare to use, I might try and add an option to use the old full size desktop site on mobile if this is preferred.

Overall I think the new layout is better but does have some flaws, I might experiment with other layouts in the future.

Yes that needs to be changed so there are 2 rows of 6

Nothing to do with the new site but unfortunately the correct release date isn't always retried from imdb, there needs to be an option to edit the release dates, although a options like that would bring other problems.

Yes, at least an option to edit release dates (possibly moderator locked), if the incorrect retrieving issue cannot be fixed.

Tom, I thought the "old editor" was for list notes only?

I have also experienced the problems Michael has talked about. It seems if you rearrange a list, often times it will not "take" when you save it...

I'll be able to fix them by the end of the weekend
