Ok, Thilian. Just because kids will always get past the barrier, doesn't mean we shouldn't try. And we can not "just take care of our kiddies." There are other kids, and people file lawsuits for everything nowadays. That's quite a big deal to Tom. I doubt he'll have a happy-go-lucky attitude about being sued.

You're right Thilian, it's unlikely that anyone would care enough. That doesn't mean it's right to blatantly go and ignore either the law or moral responsibility though. I'll leave it at that since we'll just go around in circles otherwise.

I won't go thru old stuff, but if it gets resurected, it will be treated in same fashion as new threads.

Things I will start doing, effectively immediately
(no need to notify the Random Chat area. if they don't read it here, its their loss):

1. No more pointless RP threads
2. No more pointless 'Im Bored' or '......' or other such threads.

really, that's it. key word is pointless. I'm not targeting RP threads in general. If I scan your thread and your RP thread is actually written in English and seems like a good story, i'll leave it be.

I'll scan thru some of the new threads in Random Chat as they appear, and if the thread has no point, it gets deleted. If a month old CHAT thread gets awaken from the dead, it will get locked. If there is ANY mention of sex talk, rape, personal insults, or posting of gross images, it gets deleted. If you post 'where is my thread?', that gets deleted as well. if you post 'WTF PRelude!! quit f*cking my threads!', that will also be deleted. Even if a thread HAD a point, and the point was addressed, and now has become a series of LOL and HI and BYE and OMG!!, it gets locked. Running out of things to say yet still talking, that's also called pointless.

I don't care to respond or justify my actions to certain members. Its so much simpler just using my judgement and hitting delete or lock. end of story. end of discussion.

so real simple, if you don't want your thread locked, have a point. and if you suck at RP'ing (that's pretty much everyone except Yama), don't start an RP session.

as i said once, ban roleplaying (and after some warning every "player who is involved in it) altogether. saying that i feel dirty, being a roleplayer (pen & paper) for almost 20 years...

however, as you already stated prelude, the "roleplaying"-threads on listal are nasty, more so if considered it comes from underage kids. this could cause big problems to tom and the site, if someone gets the idea to take legal action. but roleplaying is not the only problem here with seeing item pages abused with pornographic pictures, explicit "reviews" and comments etc. there should be heavy moderation on every aspect of the site. that's something i usually despise, but in this case, until the biggest retards are weeded out, it is something that's absolute necessary and would be a simple act of listal's "self-defense".

also rb6k made some very good suggestions (or at least summarized those who have been floating around for some time now) to handle "bad" content/users in general.

than I'd actually LEAVE RP threads alone. They would be a pleasure to read and maybe even fun to participate in.

Of course, going to that level would require the use of the English language, so already 95% are at a handicap.

Plus it's better... or should I say healthier? to use it in the 3rd person, as using it in the 1st person can cause people to actually think they are that person, which then results in being deemed a retard or needing therapy

simple. because they would get banned, mocked, or insulted at true RP sites if they posted their RP threads over there. So instead they post it here, where any goes. or rather, used to go.

But vast majority of their RP threads are one liners, no background info, and retarded broken english talk, and then add in to the mix all their buddies adding '.....', lol, hi, cya gtg, LOLZZZZ OMG!!!! to every other post inside the so-called RP thread.

And I promise, if anyone actually makes an RP thread on Listal that is ENJOYABLE to read, not only will I allow it, I'll even personally monitor the thread and weed out all the off topic 'noise' to could ruin your thread.

point 1: you're going to see more complaints and arguements

answer: complaints, you're one of the first. Compliments, there's been a lot so far in my PM box.

point 2: listal is going to lose a lot of people

answer: listal already lost a few key members BECAUSE of all the crap in the group areas. If we have to sacrifice 1,000 RP anime threaders for sake of keeping 10 CONTRIBUTING users on listal, you know, the ones that rate, review, and have intelligent discussions in Groups, it's one I'm willing to make.

Point 3: no place to practice RP.

answer: yes there is. Look up Role Playing Groups on google. and if they mock and laugh and ban you there because your RP threads suck (i'm using 'you' in 3rd person, not you in particular), better read other true RP threads to learn, and practice with friends via EMAIL, MSN, MYSPACE, or even good ol' NOTEPAD

answer: the point of banding is to tie blood vessels to prevent excessive bleeding. I assume you meant it metaphorically; by banding the RP threads at listal, it prevents further blood loss and perhaps eventual death of groups here at Listal. right?

I knew banning majority of RP would cause 'tension', but they have two choices.

1. Write PROPER RP threads (Open up Notepad and practice first, or follow Yama's threads)

2. Delete their account

If they insist there is a 3rd option, they will see that it only leads them back to option 2.
