Pictures not showing.

The thumbnail pictures are broken, and while there are blank squares, and you can see the picture it links to there are still blank squares.

What gives?

Update: I emailed Tom, and hopefully something will be fixed.

what I don't get is a website that gets more than 4 million visits monthly, and its clearly monetized, I mean, it has to produce some decent money, why is so poorly maintained. I mean no offense, but it'd be no issue to hire another person who could take care of these technical issues that seem to be happening with certain regularity, and which produce a loss of money.

It has been 5 days and we're still at 50% if that, and if the website stays like this the decrease in google rankings, which values speed, and users will be monumental.

Yesterday after Tom told me that everything is working fine to him, I sent him 3 screenshots showing pictures that do not load (broken thumbnails), or that load but take long time to load, and also sent him a link to this topic. I still have no answer.

Sadly, things feel like they are going downhill.

I'll wait a little longer, but it looks like I will say goodbye to one of the best internet sites ever created.

thats the sad part, it truly is a sensational site that we all love, that's why some of us are so frustrated with this situation

I don’t want to leave, but I feel like there maybe no choice, if things don’t improve. I haven’t posted in five days. Because, unless it’s fixed than what is the point?

@Kermit, I agree 100%! As of now, I'm still getting plenty of picture votes (how people can see them is beyond me), and the occasional list vote but, as in the past, I don't want to see my picture uploads stay as broken thumbs and have to upload them again!

It looks like the pics on some pages are restored. It all seems very scattershot. Some thumbnails and pics are working while others are not. It seems the pics work better if you're on your PC as opposed to your iPhone.

marioehc, I use PC always, never iPhone to navigate Listal, and am having all the problems all the time.
Now that I stop to think, could it be that the image problem is not affecting all users?

Being the case, anyway Tom should fix it for the affected users, I sent him screenshots of my image problems.

Updated: I got a replay, asking where. And I mentioned that it’s not working on my end.

Question: How do send screenshots on the message board? It’s so I can send actual proof that it’s not working over on my end.

I am not encountering any broken thumbnails and all the
images I've been posting are loading correctly.

I can see all the problem examples posted in the forums except these:

Moderators can see thumbnails of all images posted. I do come across the "image not found" and it's usually because they are images posted directly to lists and then those lists are set as private - or they are nude images somehow blocked by the system - although I suspect it's because they are being posted directly to private lists. I tried to find out the answer and solution years ago without success.

Moderators cannot fix technical issues anyway so I would suggest continuing to post examples in the public forum.

These issues are likely device specific.

I use a PC with windows 10 - 12GB RAM - if I have (18) windows open I certainly experience some lag.

Go to your task manager and view your running processes and available resources.
You can try closing some windows and refreshing problem pages.

For me Windows 10 with 12GB Ram is the minimum configuration for browsing.
4GB is horrific - 8GB is not much better with several windows open.

If using windows 10 you may also be experiencing hours long hidden windows updates.
You can check: start - settings - windows update to see if it is running or frozen.

Listal, in general, went dark around 11 pm US EST last night. I just looked now and it seems like the broken thumbnail issues are resolving,...slowly,...I uploaded a test picture on Vanessa Kirby's page without a problem, but Nicola Cavanis' page is still loaded with broken thumbnails only dating back to the past week, when this all started. Does anyone know if Tom did some server reboot?

I use Listal for 3 years and I did not change any configuration here. The problem was not with my PC, it was on Listal.
But Tom fixed it (like he told me via message 30 minutes ago), images are loading, and fast like they used to.
I'm so happy, it would be very sad to leave Listal.

It’s weird. Some of the thumb nails are up and running, but others are still blank. Also, I don’t have a PC. I have a ntabletbinstead.

I've been having this issue for a week too.

I don't think it's device specific, as I tried on two devices (PC and Mac) as well as separate browsers. Besides, it's happening for multiple users at the same time.

Same here. It’s been roughly six days, and the front page still hasn’t have thumbnails of everyone and pictures, up and running.

Update: It’s still showing blank squares.

So this problem was driving me nuts and I tried a few things. There is a problem with the content delivery network (CDN) bunny.net. It seems that this is affecting the northeast US and eastern Canada. I tried clearing by browser cache and and still had the problem but if I cleared my browser and then used a VPN to appear to be located in Europe the thumbnails loaded normally.

I was wondering if others are still having the same problems and if they could try clearing their browser cache (you don't need to delete cookies) and try loading the site again. If you still have missing thumbnails and have access to a VPN, try connecting to a European server, clearing your browser cache and then try loading again. I can provide more detail about what I found later today, after work.

Do I have to sign back for Netflix, or anything else?

Broken thumbnail issue does not exist if I switch via VPN to a UK IP address. Interesting. Of course, this does not change many of the other ongoing issues...

I did some further checking last night and what seems to be happening is that some local access points to the thumbnail images won't show the thumbnails properly even though they are actually there. I tried changing DNS servers and that also helped with the thumbnails. I'm going to send the detailed version what I found to the support email. Hopefully this will help.

As a superstitious old firefighter who knows better than to utter "The Q Word" while on-duty, it looks like the issue is resolving? Maybe Tom was able to fix that CDN issue? From my POV, Kermit, all the pictures I've uploaded in the past 48 hrs are visible to me.

I have just checked across two different computers plus my phone and all thumbnails are loading normally under conditions that were broken before.

I did send a detailed email late last night suggesting the problem was a caching problem across the Bunny.net CDN. I didn't get a response (yet) so I don't know if this is coincidence or not. Frankly I don't care as long as things are working properly again.

Kermit, let us know if its working for you. If you still have problems try clearing the cache on your tablet's browser and trying again.

Any new picture I upload is blank.

Seems to be affecting pics I posted that go back at least 5 days too

When I click any image (not just my own) to see it at its full size, it's blank.

Posted 3 pics without a problem here.

I can't see images either, clicking an image just leads to a broken image.

Yup,...went back later and they were broken full size pics!

I notice the Images/Pictures page is not working, cant handle the request!

Now when I click an image, it still shows up blank but when I click the image again, the full size image appears.

I've uploaded pictures again and it appears to be fixed but the images that were affected by this still aren't showing up.

I just did a big pic dump and, so far, they're all still showing. Added some pics to lists and also didn't generate broken thumbs. Sounds like the any pics posted when this started should be deleted and re-posted again.
