New site going live on Sunday 8th September

The new site code will be going live on the listal.com domain on Sunday 8th September.

The test currently running on betalistal.com will be shut down and all data removed. Betalistal.com is a test site using old data, when the new site launches the current data on listal.com will be used.

Please continue to test betalistal.com and report and bugs in this thread so they can be fixed before release on Sunday!

100% of the planned or missing features may not be ready for launch but these will be added later this month. For example the compatibility ratings on the profile are currently missing.

How long is the changeover likely to take, any idea?

From 8am EDT, 5am PDT, 1pm BST, 2pm CET for up to 3 hours but hopefully a lot less than that

For whatever it's worth, I just went through my profile and it looks good. I didn't have any problems maneuvering around and everything seemed to work well. I guess the acid test will be Monday! Good luck. :D

I'm having some trouble getting on. It tells me to login, then I do, and it tells me that it was incorrect. Will I be able to get it when it launches or will it delete everything i have?

By "sort by contact's ratings" i mean explore - pick category - top rated but instead of showing all listal user's combined rating i would get it those I follow.

1. For instance, "Products" seems a very and loose definition.
Are we supposed to be adding items and lists about any sponge bags, vitamin pills, vacuum cleaners, kitchenware, bedclothes... we fancy?
I mean, like Pinterest?

Or, is Listal still going to be centered on entertainment and culture?

I don't mean to criticize. It's just a question about the direction Listal is going.



2. Besides, I would appreciate some guidelines on "Beauty" and "Art & Design". What kinds of items are we supposed to add there? People? Brands? Products? Concepts? Remarkable works?

I don`t get how the new listal works! so I have few question:
it`s seems like few of my lists were in the new one too but not the rest!
and the votes go with it or you need to get new ones?

Calm down, calm down... the current test site only holds information that was present on the current Listal when the test site was created... plus any information added directly to the test site during testing, no new information added to old Listal will be on new Listal until the changeover.

All information should be present on the new Listal when it is officially released, and any glitches that do happen should be dealt with as they are reported.

The beta site is just a test that will be erased when the site goes live, the test site has old data on it.

Yes products can be used to add anything that doesn't fit in the other categories, if there is a particular interest in one type of item a more specific category may be created.

It will probably remain centered on entertainment for a while but it is really up to people how they want to use it, for example I am quite interested in architecture so would like to add buildings etc...

Beauty was designed as a category in which lists which mostly focus on attractiveness of people e.g. beautiful women lists. Art & Design was intended to list the type of things that are currently on the beta site e.g. paintings, architecture, sculptures etc.. (There may be some cross over with places/products)
