Recommendations for June:
Kidnapped - www.listal.com/movie/secuestrados
My favorite straight-up home invasion film. Very gross in a moral sense but so damn tight in every other.
Sex Ed - www.listal.com/movie/sex-ed-2014
Wrote this up on my 2015 film journal. If you want to see Haley Joel Osment's weird man baby body in a decent comedy, this is it.

Sorry for the lateness, my laptop hasn't been working so well lately. Only way I'm even on here now is because I brought my work laptop home tonight.

Recommendations for July:
Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau - www.listal.com/movie/lost-soul-doomed-journey-richard
There's a larger thing about this in my film journal, but watch the last 30 minutes. It's AMAZING.
Faults - www.listal.com/movie/faults
I didn't love this movie. A lot of people will.

*waves!* Same! I keep telling myself, this is it, things will settle down now, and then something else comes up. And time sure does fly when you're busy.
Some more work for you :) Much appreciation for keeping up with this list for so long.
Recommendations for July:
Russian Ark -I watched this while I did figure studies in oil pastel the other day, and while enjoying a few glasses of white wine, and it was a really beautiful and inspiring experience. Very dreamlike, and grand- I wish I'd been able to see it on a huge screen, the sets and costumes are stunning. It'd probably be more enjoyable if I knew more about Russian history, but even if you don't it is interesting and they give you enough context to get the gist of most scenes.
The Last Unicorn -Kinda dated at this point and has plenty of scenes with questionable animation quality (sometimes humorously so), but it is still very beautiful. If you're not already at a saturation point of high fantasy, it's got a whimsical, adventurous story you can settle into, and likeable if not amusing characters. If the animation isn't your style, the book is just as good if not better and a quick, easy read.
Throwing more support behind:
Take This Waltz
Shadow of the Vampire
Grave Encounters (is it too late to give support to one that's left instant already? If so, nevermind about this one)

Indeed time does fly. Speaking of which, if I'm going to watch a movie before bed I'd better hop off here pretty quick.
I'm totally fine with support being thrown behind Grave Encounters even though it's left Instant.

Technically it's August 1st here, so...
Recommendations for August:

Creep

Lost Soul...
Also, since I can't justify adding it I'm throwing out a general recommendation for Doomsday Book, which leaves Netflix Instant on Aug. 9th.

Recommendations for August:
The Guest - www.listal.com/movie/the-guest-2014
I don't really have to sell you on this movie beyond stating that it's from the people who made You're Next but instead of being a deconstructionist home invasion film it's a deconstructionist Terminator-film. Tell me you aren't interested. I dare you.
Comet - www.listal.com/movie/comet
There's a text of this in my movie journal, but this movie might actually make you not hate Justin Long and that's quite an accomplishment.

Recommendations for September:
White God - www.listal.com/movie/white-god
A terrific action-horror-drama about a dog uprising. Though it's a bit stupid, it's rather powerful. And entertaining. There's more text in my film journal of the year.
Byzantium - www.listal.com/movie/byzantium
One of the better vampire films in recent years. A feminist take on it that depicts the whole ordeal as, well, an ordeal. It's really depressing.

Recommendations for October:
Laura - www.listal.com/movie/laura
A classic somewhat-noir with Vincent Price and dead ladies. It's quite a bit of fun if somewhat perplexing.
Philomena - www.listal.com/movie/philomena
A funny drama with terrific performances about an old lady figuring out some fucked up crimes.
PS. Because it's October go watch both those movies I recommended last month because they're horror!

Iron Monkey
Starry Eyes
List is updated.
Recommending the first film because I can't believe people haven't seen it. Recommending the second because it's horror.
And yeah, we've got several horror films in our list...any you haven't seen yet now would be a good time to give a shot.

Look, it isn't great, but that score is the best thing. The best. It Follows comes close but isn't as instantly listenable as this is. It's terrific.

I remember seeing this like a decade ago but the cat story is still great and the cast is throughout such ham. Also one of my favorite framing stories in an anthology horror film.
Couldn't get into John Dies at the End at all though.

Recommendations for November:
Kristy - www.listal.com/movie/random-2013
Probably my new favorite in the stranger invasion genre (well, modern efforts at least) excluding You're Next. It's such a satisfying film.
Beasts of No Nation - www.listal.com/movie/beasts-of-no-nation
Look man, if you haven't watched this yet and you have Netflix, what are you even doing?

Just a thought I'd like to throw out & get feedback on...is anyone interested in carrying this on next year? If so, might it benefit to post all recommendations in the list comments instead of in the forums which seem to be dead? Because if we do this again next year that's the route I'd like to go, especially since the update feed ignores forum posts while continuing to track comments.
I like having this project as a source for recommendations, but since there's only 3 of us keeping up with it most of the time there's not as much variety as in the past couple of years. I'd like to see more involvement & growth, but it hasn't happened this year. And since we're now about a month away from 2016 I thought I'd ask in advance. I appreciate your thoughts. :)

Posting them in the list would certainly make sense and might bring more people in.

Recommendations for December:
King of Beggars
The Taking of Deborah Logan
List updated. Figured I'd at least contribute recommendations this month. I'll be semi-ignoring Netflix for December, but I reserve the right to work in any films from our project.

Tangerine - www.listal.com/movie/tangerine
A wonderful comedy about transgender prostitutes in LA shot on iPhones. It has such great energy to it.
Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films - www.listal.com/movie/electric-boogaloo-wild-untold-story
The better Cannon-doc. Full of fun anecdotes and plenty of fun clips from the films. Everything you'd want out of a fan-ish circle jerk.
