I knew nothing about this movie before watching it. I had heard someone describe it as Halloween meets Drive and that was enough to get me to watch it. A good thriller but I don't think it's my sort of thriller to be quite honest I think it had a brilliant cast as well don't get me wrong, but it's not something you can watch again and see in a different light.

I remember seeing the preview for this and thinking the premise looked interesting. Then I found out the director is horror genre regular Adam Wingard which is pretty cool and his buddy AJ Bowen tags along as one of the cast members. A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.

First Viewing The tone fluctuates a lot (family drama to mystery to horror), and the ending is disappointing (it's a winking homage, but still) but The Guest is a lot of fun, and benefits heavily from a deeply creepy performance from Dan Stevens."
