Prologue:
“Man I can’t believe Tsunade choose Naruto to be the sixth hokage.” Koji said. Koji was a twelve year old gennin being trained by sasuke Uchiha. Koji was originally born in the hidden mist village. He was moved to the leaf village after his last relative Haku was killed by Kakashi. Koji wore a black jacket with a red inner lining. He had a black mask that covered his face up to his face up to the top of his nose. He always wore black pants and a black shirt. He wore the hidden leaf headband that Iruka sensei gave to him instead of the leaf headband everyone else got. Koji like his cousin Haku had the kekie genkie of mastery of water and ice jutsu. Koji’s hair was black, and it flowed to his shoulders. His eyes were brown. “Well he is one of the strongest ninja in the village plus they made that bet what ten years ago.” Nayoto Uchiha another twelve year old said. Nayoto wore an unbuttoned blue jacket and a black shirt with blue pants. His cousin sasuke was now a jounin. Nayoto had not yet unlocked his sharingan powers but knew that when he did sasuke would help him master them. Nayoto was born and raised in the hidden leaf village. Nayoto had black hair and brown eyes. “Yeah and plus you’re too young to be hokage and not powerful enough either.” Haru Hyugga the last twelve year old said. Haru was part of the legendary Hyugga clan and already had mastered many secrets of the byokugon. He wore a completely white jacket and white pants. His hair was black. “Koji look at it as a new mission to respect Naruto and not just think ok him as a pervert.” Sasuke said. “Yes Uchiha sensei but I wasn’t thinking of myself as hokage.” Koji said. “Fine but respect Naruto when your meet him for you’re mission assignments. Remember he’s my old teammate.” Sasuke said. “Yes Sasuke sensei.” The three ninja said together as one.

Chapter one: training missions

“Okay for your training I’m going to put you through a training mission my sensei Kakashi put me through. The bells exercise as its become known.” Sasuke said. “Why do we have to do Kakashi’s training techniques I mean look at what those techniques did to my family?” Koji commented. “Because they made me the ninja I am today. Now then the rules of this training mission are that you have to get one of my two bells before lunch. If you don’t then you don’t eat. Also if by the end of the day if you don’t have one of the bells you will fail.” Sasuke explained. Then at most two of us pass and one fails not good odds since we all are good jutsu users. Nayoto thought. Well since Nayoto is the only one of us that can’t use his kekie genkie then that means hell lose easily. Koji thought to himself. “Man even with my byokugon I’m out of this.” Hiroka thought out loud. “Not good to tell your opponents your flaws.” Sasuke said. “And one more thing, attack me with the intent to kill. That means even using your inherited butterfly blade sword Koji.” Sasuke added while pointing out the sword on Koji’s belt. This sword had a curved handle and a straight blade. The gennin quickly hid and waited for the moment to attack. Hmm. They are smarter than Naruto was. Sasuke thought. That was when a kunai followed by two shurikens flew out of the trees. That could’ve been any of them. Sasuke thought while dodging the weapons. “Hidden mist jutsu!” Koji’s voice yelled. So he did study his old arts though that kekie genkie helps also. Sasuke though while being surrounded by mist. “You know that after Zabuza and Haku died I was given all of their books and other possessions. I know techniques you couldn’t even dream of.” Koji said out loud. “Oh and that sharingan wont work on me.” Koji added. “Fine but still look at what happened to Zabuza after he used this technique on Kakashi.” Sasuke said. “There is a difference in Kakashi’s sharingan and your sharingan. See Kakashi killed his best friend which gave him the kaleidoscope sharingan. You haven’t killed your best friend yet.” Koji reminded sasuke. “I know then I would have to kill the hokage.” Sasuke said back. Then sasuke felt something next to him by the time he turned a round Koji had yelled, “Water prison jutsu!” Huh! But how did I fall for that! Sasuke asked himself. “Um Koji how will you get a bell if I’m in the water prison?” Sasuke asked. “easy.” Koji relied. Then he did some hand signs one handed and said “water clone jutsu.” “Ah so then you thought this through now did you?” sasuke said. “Actually we figured out the true point of this mission. Teamwork.” Said Nayoto’s voice. “Yeah and you tried to separate us and make us battle each other but it didn’t work.” Haru said. Then Koji let the prison down while his clone, Nayoto, and Haru attacked sasuke. Then Koji released the mist and joined in. soon they had sasuke outnumbered and beaten. Koji and Haru shared a bell and Nayoto had a bell. “so you’ve passed this training mission,” Sasuke said, “now go home and rest.” The three boys left the training ground and headed towards their secret hideout. To everyone else it was an abandoned gym. To them it was paradise. This was where they mastered jutsu together. They found it the day they were assigned cells and sensei. On the way to the hideout they ran into Hiroka Hyugga, another gennin. “So what have we here the members of cell twenty?” Hiroka said. Hiroka wore the same clothes as Haru and had the same color hair as Haru. His teammates were with him. “What do you want Hiroka?” Koji asked. “Oh I just wanted to pick on the mist village freak. I mean come on remember your in leaf village not mist wear the right head band.” Hiroka said. “Hiroka leave Koji alone. Besides he’s more powerful than you are.” Said Hiru Matake. Hiru was a twelve year old gennin. He wore a gray jacket and gray pants. His hair was black and his eyes were brown. His favorite jutsu was earth wall. “Yeah plus he has that kekie genkie and he practices hatred jutsu.” Said Kitsura Kamahi. Kitsura wore a red jacket and red pants. She had blonde hair blue eyes and was a kunoichi. “Fine let’s just test that.” Hiroka said. “Byokugon!” Hiroka yelled. “Serpent tiger serpent! Black ra” Koji said when interrupted by a voice. “Were you two about to fight?” “No sakura sensei.” Hiroka and the rest of his cell said. “You better not have because then I would have to send you straight to the hokage.” Sakura said. “Oh and cell twenty good job on the bells test today. Me and my cell almost failed as gennin.” Sakura added. The three gennin of cell twenty went back to their hideout. There they practiced and exercised on the old used equipment. Soon sasuke showed up and said, “Hey the hokage said for me to up your training starting tomorrow so wake up bright and early and be ready for the day.” They all went home and rested then woke up and showed up at the academy training room……. “Okay show me your best jutsu.” Sasuke said. “Okay ill go first.” said Koji. “Crystal ice mirrors!” koji yelled. “Ah yes the hidden jutsu of your clan. Anything else that kekie genkie lets you do?” sasuke asked. “Yep” Koji said then released the jutsu and made a kunai out of the water on the floor. “Now me!” Haru said. “Fine go ahead.” Sasuke said. “Byokugon!” Haru yelled. “Nice and that also comes with the sight of the charka network in a person’s body.” Sasuke said. “Well mine would be the sharingan but I haven’t unlocked its power yet.” Nayoto said. “Well show me another one you’re good at.” Sasuke said. “Fine. Phoenix fire ball jutsu!” Nayoto yelled.” Um koji keep some water ready.” Sasuke said. “Yes sasuke sensei.” Koji said. Nayoto blew his fire then koji splashed what he burnt with water from the ice mirrors. “Okay then you all know those jutsu well so when we split up I want you to practice your worst jutsu and koji don’t say you don’t have a worse jutsu while yes you have mastered most of the water and ice jutsus try some earth or fire jutsu.” Sasuke said. “Yes sasuke sensei.” The three boys said in unison. They then went to train and master some skills. Sasuke helped koji master his speed and throwing technique. He then showed Haru how to get over the weakness of the byokugon. Finally he showed Nayoto that he must have fast eyes if he is to use the sharingan to its full advantage. “Now then tomorrow we will have fighting and jutsu examines. You and the gennin in Sakura’s squad we will match you up with the other gennin depending on how well you do in the preliminaries. Now then get home.” Sasuke said. The next morning koji woke up and grabbed his special outfit. It was something that his father wore when he was a ninja and koji wore this outfit when he became a gennin and was given his mist headband by Iruka sensei. The outfit was a black jacket with a red inner lining. Black pants and a black shirt. A black mask to cover his face and black sandals. He wore his shuruken/kunai pouch on his right leg. He slid his family sword into its sheath on his belt. Then he met up with his squad. “See you’re wearing the special outfit given to you in your fathers will.” Nayoto said. “Yep I became a gennin in this outfit and plan to win in this outfit.” Koji said. When they showed up sasuke said, “Now then the preliminaries will be much like the test on the chunin exam only scaled down and we wont do the second preliminary that they have on the chunin exam but we will do the first and third. The third is the one that matters though.” “Now then this first test is a written exam of your jutsu and skill knowledge. There are ten questions and you start with ten points. If you are caught cheating five times you fail and cannot compete in the final test.” Sakura explained. The exam started and the gennin got to work on the test. Most of the first questions were easy but then the got harder. Man I’m gonna have to cheat! Koji thought. “Koji are you having trouble” a voice next to him whispered. “Um no Kitsura I mean come on I’m a top notch ninja why would I have trouble?” koji said. Koji had a crush on Kitsura and Kitsura had crush on koji though they didn’t know that they both liked each other. “Oh well if you need any help just ask and ill help you.” Kitsura said. “Oh well thanks.” Koji said. The first test was soon over and sasuke said, “now then you all passed the first test and now we have your partners. The battles will be in this order Koji versus Hiroka Nayoto versus Hiru and Haru versus Kitsura. Now remember to fight to kill but leave your opponent alive.” Sasuke said. “Now then koji Hiroka into the ring and fight.” Sakura ordered. “Now I can take you down koji.” Hiroka said. “Not if I take you out first.” Koji said. “Byokugon!” Hiroka yelled. “Sakura can your boy not attack someone without that byokugon of his?” sasuke asked. “He sees it as defense and offense though he over uses it.” Sakura said. “Hidden mist jutsu!” Koji yelled. The mist obscured Hiroka’s vision even with the byokugon. “Sasuke how does koji know that technique?” sakura asked. “His cousin was Haku. Koji was transferred here when Haku was killed. He has Haku’s kekie genkie of mastery of water and ice jutsu.” Sasuke answered. “Oh that also explains the mist headband. I guess Iruka pulled some strings.” Sakura said. “Water clone jutsu!” said a voice from Hiroka’s right. “Um koji this isn’t funny.” Hiroka said. “I know that’s why I’m cutting off the mist jutsu.” Koji said. Then the mist disappeared and Hiroka was surrounded by eight water clones. “Hm. That all you got?” Hiroka yelled. “Nope. Water dragon jutsu!” the Kojis yelled. “What?” Hiroka said while evading all but the real Kojis attack. “Ah!” Hiroka yelled. Very good but you forgot one thing.” Hiroka said. “What’s that?” koji asked. “That I hold the whip! Fire whip jutsu!” Hiroka yelled. Hiroka flung the whip at koji and got a hit four times. “That’s interesting because I hold the sword.” Koji said while drawing his family’s butterfly blade sword. Hiroka drew a kunai. The battled it out with koji making strikes at Hiroka’s neck and Hiroka striking at Koji’s legs. “Phoenix fire ball ju” Hiroka started when koji said “water style giant vortex jutsu!” What? Hiroka thought when he got hit and knocked out by the vortex koji had conjured up. “Koji passes his exams and so does Hiroka.” Sasuke announced. “Now then Nayoto Hiru in the ring now.” Sakura said.

Chapter two: top cell
“Now then same as Koji’s and Hiroka’s fight.” Sasuke said. “And begin” sakura added. “Phoenix fire ball jutsu!” Nayoto yelled. Hiru just barely dodged the attack though the lower ends of his pants were burnt. “Huh. So you can fight without that all so famous kekie genkie of yours.” Hiru said. “Yep and I can do some other things. Shadow clone jutsu!” Nayoto yelled. “Make all the clones you want. You can’t win.” Hiru said. Then Hiru said, “Summoning jutsu!” suddenly Hiru had a two headed snake under his feet. “Summoning jutsu!” Nayoto yelled. Nayoto was now on top of chief toad. “Toad fire ball jutsu!” Nayoto screamed. The snake was hit by the fire and burned away. Nayoto released his summoning and walked over to Hiru. Suddenly Hiru stood up and threw two kunai at Nayoto. They hit him in both arms. No it can’t end like this I must live. Nayoto thought to himself. “Phoenix flower jutsu!” Nayoto yelled. He burnt the floor and all around Hiru. Then Nayoto pulled out a shuriken and threw it at Hiru’s leg. It cut deeply into Hiru’s left leg. Hiru screamed out in pain. “Landslide!” Hiru yelled. Suddenly Nayoto was lifted of his feet as he watched Hiru make the sign of the tiger then push it towards him. Nayoto flew back being held up by earth then the earth just disappeared as Nayoto hit a wall then the ground. “So starting to feel weak? If so I can give you the antidote. DEATH!” Hiru yelled while pulling out a kunai. Hiru rushed Nayoto and sliced open his left bicep. “Ah!” Nayoto screamed in pain. “Now then to finish it! Balsam fire spread jutsu!” Hiru yelled. Then Nayoto disappeared. Huh where did he go? Hiru thought. Yes his teleportation jutsu pulled through! Sasuke thought. Sasuke taught that Uchiha well. Sakura thought. Yeah go Nayoto! Koji thought. Where he shows up will be a mystery to us all? Haru thought. Then a shadow appeared behind Hiru. The shadow raised its right hand to hit Hiru in the back of the neck when Hiru pulled out a kunai and stabbed the shadows right hand. “Ah!” Nayoto screamed out in pain. “Now we can finally end this!” Hiru screamed. Hiru took ten steps back and drew two shurikens. He threw them both at Nayoto. Then something in Nayoto’s eyes changed. They weren’t brown. Now they were red and had two black dots on a black circle surrounding the pupil. No it can’t be! Hiru thought. Finally he unlocked his power of the sharingan. Sasuke thought. Yeah go Nayoto! Koji yelled to himself. Then when the two got within in arms length Nayoto plucked them out of the air without causing any harm to himself. He then threw the shurikens back at Hiru and hit both arms. Hiru hit the ground in pain. Nayoto ran up and held a kunai to Hiru’s neck. “Nayoto wins from disarming and threat to kill opponent.” Sasuke said. “Haru Kitsura in the ring now!” sakura yelled. As Kitsura walked by koji he said, “Good luck Kitsura.” “Thank you koji.” Kitsura said back. “So has Kitsura even notice you yet koji?” sasuke asked. “What?” Kojis said. “Koji it’s obvious that you like her and I think she likes you also.” Sasuke said. “Oh well I mean she offered me the answers to some questions on the test. But that’s all.” Koji said. “Don’t worry about it just if you like her then ask her out. Don’t make the same mistakes I did.” Sasuke told him. “What mistakes?” koji asked. “Well I did like sakura and I never asked her out. The main mistake I made was asking out Ino. Good thing me and her didn’t get married.” Sasuke said. Then they turned their attention to the ring. Haru and Kitsura had started to circle each other. Then Haru yelled, “Sand clone jutsu!” then there were five Haru’s “hmp. No matter. Fire clone jutsu!” Kitsura yelled. It was clone versus clone. Soon there was nothing but Haru Kitsura sand and fire in the ring. They struck fast and furiously. Soon they were both covered in blood and cuts. But Kitsura studied medical ninjutsu. Haru looked at Kitsura’s right hand. It was surrounded by an aura of blue charka. Huh! A charka scalpel! Haru thought. Kitsura rushed Haru and hit his right bicep. “Ah!” Haru screamed in pain. Haru looked terrible. They had been fighting for thirty minutes. Kitsura looked fresh because of the medical ninjutsu. Then Haru used a technique he uncovered. Kakashi would have thought it should be forbidden but nobody agreed with him on that. “Dog ox horse dragon! Chidori level four!” Haru yelled. What but that’s a version more advanced then mine! Sasuke thought. Then on both of Haru’s hands appeared a Chidori. Then Haru pulled his hands back and threw the two chidoris at Kitsura. The both hit. One in her arm and on in her leg. She was knocked out. “Haru wins by default.” Sasuke said. “Very good now then sasuke this means your squad is the top rookie gennin cell.” Said a voice from behind them all. “Oh thank you lord hokage” sasuke said. “I’m also amazed that one of your gennin has a more powerful Chidori than you.” Naruto said. “Don’t rub it in. Besides Haru how did you learn that?” sasuke asked. “Well when I visited Kakashi he let me borrow this book that had advanced Chidori techniques.” Haru said. “oh.” Sasuke said. “Well looks like your two cells are ready for tougher missions but we’re going to start with some easy ones” Naruto said. The next morning squad twenty headed out on the missions they were assigned. First they rescued a baby bird. Then they picked trash up off the streets. Then they had to collect taxes. That was a hard one. Nobody wanted to pay them the money they owed. Finally Nayoto and koji had both gotten fed up with it. When they returned to the briefing room koji screamed, “Okay I’ve had it! Give us a harder mission! No more weed picking or tax collecting something on like I don’t know a B rank or even C rank!” “Fine then here is a B rank mission. You have to help kill off the Mizu-Kage. He has been mistreating his people and now won’t send anybody to the chunin exams.” Naruto said. “Naruto this rank of a mission is reserved for chunin and jounin. Not gennin. Plus the Mizu-Kage is in charge of the hidden mist village and if you remember right koji is from the hidden mist village.” Sasuke protested. “Don’t worry sasuke sensei we can do this.” Nayoto said. “Yes sasuke they can plus you’ll be doing this mission with Sakura’s squad.” Naruto told them. As soon as Sakura’s squad got there Naruto went over the mission. “Now then we have been sending in squads of ninja and the mist ninja have been helping but the problem is the hidden mist tracker ninja and the grass ninja that have been helping out the Mizu-Kage.” Naruto explained. When they started to leave Naruto said, “Sasuke wait up. I want to talk to you.” “What is it Naruto?” sasuke asked. “Well listen I know they aren’t ready for this but if they pass then you can enter them in the chunin exams next month. I also understand that you don’t want any of them to die especially not Nayoto since he is one of the last Uchiha. But there is something bothering you about this that I can’t pick up on. What is it?” Naruto explained. “Just I’m afraid for koji. He probably doesn’t even remember the village but they will remember him just fine. Plus what if they want him to join there village and leave ours. I mean that kekie genkie of his is really good for our village.” Sasuke said. “What kekie genkie?” Naruto asked. “Wait I remember now. We never told you because we thought you might want to uphold the vow you made to Haku and use that on koji. Naruto koji is Haku’s cousin and has that same kekie genkie of mastery of water and ice jutsu.” Sasuke explained. “Oh. I wish I would have known” Naruto said. Then the two cells left for the mist village. They got at least twenty miles out of the leaf village when they made camp. “This will be a good spot to camp.” Sasuke said. They al soon were given jobs and once those were completed they all drifted off into sleep.

Chapter three: distrust in the cells

“Okay let’s get moving. But someone has to stay back here and erase all the traces of us being here. I know koji Kitsura you get rid of our marks and cover your own trail when you come to catch up with us. We’ll scout ahead and wait for you.” Sasuke said with a wink towards koji. “Okay sasuke sensei.” Koji said. Soon all the other ninja were gone. “Well Kitsura this is easy I mean who could have done a better job then us. I’m just wondering why the two gennin that practice medical ninjutsu were left back here?” koji asked. “I don’t know I'm also surprised sakura sensei didn’t protest.” Kitsura said. Then suddenly Kitsura saw an image in her head of the day she started to like koji. They were taking the final exam to become gennin. The exam was to make five clones of you. Kitsura knew that clones were her worst technique and she couldn’t do fire clones. That’s when koji walked up and said, “You know clones aren’t that hard if you think about someone that was or is nice to you or if you just put the right amount of charka in each clone.” “Thank you koji.” Kitsura said. “Koji your turn!” Iruka sensei had yelled from the exam room. “Well wish me luck! But when I come back out ill have a headband on and ill be wearing proudly.” Koji had told her excitedly. He walked into the room and you could here him yell clone jutsu through the wall. Then after a minute or two he walked out of the room his head hung low. When he reached Kitsura he started to lift his head. “Koji I’m so sorry that you didn’t” Kitsura had started to say when koji lifted his head and said, “what that I passed the exam!” on his head was a head band. But not a leaf headband. As it turned out Iruka had gotten a hold of a hidden mist headband just for koji. The headband pushed Koji’s hair up out of his eyes and for the first time ever Kitsura saw Koji’s brown eyes. From that day forward she started to like him even more. Then she pulled herself out of the memory. Koji was having the same memory though what he remembered most vividly was that when he reached for a leaf headband Iruka yelled at him. Then Iruka turned behind him and reached into his bag. He told koji o open his hand and close his eyes. Then Iruka said that koji could open his eyes. There in Koji’s hand was a hidden mist headband. When koji walked out of that room and talked to Kitsura he looked into her blue eyes for the first time ever and that was when he started to like her. Now the only time koji took off the head band was when he took a shower. Then koji was pulled out of his memory and said, “Well this is cleaned up we better catch up with the rest of them.” “Yes let’s go.” Kitsura said in her sweet delicate voice. They soon reached the rest of the gennin but only to find them under attack by hidden mist ninja. Sasuke was pinned down by two hidden mist jounin and sakura was caught in a water prison. The gennin were having trouble getting past the chunin that were with the jounin. “Koji help out sasuke let Haru Hiru Hiroka and Kitsura help sakura out.” Nayoto yelled. “Okay.” Koji yelled back. Nayoto and koji rushed the jounin and helped get sasuke safe. “Koji remember that secret jutsu of your clan?” sasuke asked. “Yeah why sasuke sensei?” Koji answered back. “Because it might help us get into the village plus your headband.” Sasuke said. “Fine. Secret jutsu crystal ice mirrors!” koji yelled. Both the jounin were trapped inside this jutsu now. Koji flew between the ice mirrors and hit the jounin multiple times with senbons. Then he landed a killing blow on one then knocked out the other one. “perfect.” Sasuke said when koji released the jutsu. By this point sakura was safe. “so koji has studied Haku’s books.” Sakura said. “Hey wait a second how did those ninja know we were coming?” Hiroka yelled. “I don’t know Hiroka why?” sakura asked. “Well I find it strange that we leave koji back at camp to clean up and then suddenly we get attacked by mist ninja.” Hiroka said. “Hiroka what are you getting at?” sasuke said. “I think koji betrayed us to the mist ninja. I mean come on he once lived in the village hidden in the mist.” Hiroka said accusingly. “no he didn’t I was with him the whole time.” Kitsura said. That was when everyone noticed koji had turned his back on the group and was starting to shake. Nayoto Kitsura and sasuke knew that koji was trying not to cry. That was when koji turned around and screamed his lungs out at Hiroka. “First off I’m an outcast among my people since I fight for a different village! Second the mist people hate ninja with kekie genkie they see us as a war starting machine! Third even if I could get communications with the mist ninja they would think it was a trap!” Hiroka was surprised. Most people would never have yelled at him. Most of the gennin including koji knew that Hiroka could kill a pack of bears in fifteen minutes flat. To koji though it didn’t matter since Hiroka insulted him. “Well let’s get moving hopefully we won’t have anymore encounters like that.” Sasuke said. It took them two more nights to get there but they made it. Soon some ninja from the leaf village found them and led them to the hide out. “Why have you brought a mist ninja with you?” one of the mist ninja asked. “Because he is a gennin under my supervision and he is Haku’s cousin. He carries the mist kekie genkie.” Sasuke said. “Then we must give you the best sleeping quarters we can. Unlike ten years ago kekie genkies are now respected like in your village.” The mist ninja told them. They spent three nights there and the third rookie gennin cell was already there. The three leaf jounin let the gennin catch up with each other. Soon it was the night before the battle to kill the Mizu-Kage. It had been decided that Sasuke’s cell since they were the most advanced would be in charge of killing off the Mizu-Kage. Finally it was dinner time and Nayoto was getting hungry. “Koji are you coming with us for dinner?” sasuke asked. “No ill wait till the mist ninja crowd dies down in that make shift diner.” Koji said. “Ill stay with him.” Kitsura said to sakura. After the other gennin and jounin left koji turned to Kitsura and said, “Kitsura I need to tell you something.” “What is it koji?” Kitsura asked. “well see its just that since that day I got my head band and I first looked into your eyes I started to like you and I still do.” Koji explained. “Koji that’s wonderful because I feel the same way about you.” Kitsura said. “Well then when and if we get back to the leaf village would you like to g-g-go out some time.” Koji asked. “Yes koji I would like that.” Kitsura said. Soon the rest of the ninja got back and Koji and Kitsura went to get dinner at the makeshift diner. After they ate they headed back to where they were all staying and fell asleep. The next day they all knew was going involve deaths of all sorts.

hey i can give you a small taste of chapter four that i haven't gotten typed up yet but it will be in there

sasuke came running up the stairs to the mizu-kage's throne. "sharingan!" sasuke yelled. "hpm. a sharingan copy this. ox tiger ox tiger. water dragon bullet!" the mizu-kage yelled. sasuke couldn't copy fast enough and was knocked out by the jutsu. now it was all up to koji to take down the mizu-kage. "water sword!" the mizu-kage yelled out. "i have no need for fake swords made of water." koji said while drawing his butter fly blade sword called kinosho.

Chapter four: Mizu-Kage Killed

“Okay guys this mist ninja that goes by the name of Onaka is going to lead our squad to the palace of the mizu Kage. Once there he will leave us to help the battle in the street.” Sasuke explained to Nayoto and Koji. “Sasuke sensei can I ask a question?” koji said. “Yes Koji what is it?” Sasuke said. “Onaka were you six the year my father was killed?” Koji asked. “Why yes. Yes I was.” Onaka answered. “So you are my old caretaker from the mist village. If you remember I was only two years old when my father died and we couldn’t pay for your services but then you made a deal with my mother. If we would feed you for free you would work for free. Also is my mother still alive?” koji said. “No that was part of the reason of why you were sent to the leaf village.” Onaka said solemnly. “Okay listen up. There are sewers that go all through out the village and by following one long enough you can reach the palace plus they all lead straight to the palace anyway.” Onaka explained. Soon the headed out when they reached a four way intersection four hidden mist tracker ninja attacked them. “Sharingan!” Nayoto and sasuke yelled at the same time. “Water clone jutsu!” koji yelled. Now five Kojis were standing there. “Water dragon jutsu!” Onaka yelled. Onaka knocked out one tracker ninja with his water dragon. Then the five Kojis threw senbons at one of the tracker ninja and killed him. When a tracker ninja yelled “giant vortex jutsu!” Nayoto had copied it and sent the same thing back at him slamming him against the wall. Then the last one snuck up behind sasuke and said, “Sheep serpent tiger rabbit serpent dragon rabbit bird! Water prison jutsu!” “What!?!?” sasuke yelled. Nayoto and koji looked at each other. Over the years of friendship koji and Nayoto had developed a basic telekinetic bond where they knew what the other was thinking and sometimes could hear each others thoughts. We have to help him. Nayoto thought. Yeah but how? Koji thought. We could distract him to where he would have to pull his arm out of the prison then you could use the water room jutsu on him and have it constrict him. Nayoto suggested. Fine let’s do that. Koji thought. Nayoto pulled out a shuriken and threw it at the tracker ninja. The tracker caught it. Then koji yelled “water whip!” he swung at the ninja who pulled his arm out of the prison to catch the whip. That was when koji let it go and went, “serpent tiger serpent rat boar monkey! Water room jutsu!” “What!?!?!” the tracker yelled. Then suddenly he couldn’t talk or move. “Wow koji that’s a good jutsu where did you learn it?” sasuke asked. “Well Haku thought about creating it but never finished it so I took over. I have all ready shown Nayoto.” Koji said. “Well can you kill the guy with it?” Onaka asked. “Yes.” Koji said and with that he moved his hand and made the water squeeze the tracker tighter and tighter till he died of loss of air. “Okay let’s get moving.” Onaka said. Without any other attacks on the way they made to the palace in no time. “Well here’s where we split up.” Onaka said. “Okay and thank you Onaka.” Sasuke said as Onaka left. They entered the palace through the drainage covers in the floor. “Man this palace must be huge to have drainage covers this large.” Nayoto said. I wonder how Haru and Sakura’s squad are doing. Sasuke thought……… “Okay guys strike on my signal the largest group is coming if we stop them then we can give sasuke koji and Nayoto more time.” Sakura said. The group of nine ninja rounded the corner. “Aaaannnndddd……… now!” sakura yelled. They pounced on the ninja. “Byokugon!” Haru and Hiroka yelled as one. “Ox tiger ox tiger! Water dragon bullet!” one of the mist ninja yelled. It knocked out Kitsura and Hiru. “Giant vortex jutsu!” another yelled while knocking out Hiru and Hiroka. “Water dragon jutsu!” a third yelled. Now sakura was knocked out. He last thought before going unconscious was these must have been jounin………sasuke was happy to know that the palace was not heavily guarded but was unhappy to know that the hidden mist honor guard was here. The honor guards of each village were meant to protect the leader of the village from other ninja. Sasuke knew that the mist honor guards were the only ninja that stopped Zabuza’s assassination attempt last time. “Wait someone is coming around the corner.” Nayoto said. “Who is it?” sasuke asked. “a group of nine mist ninja probably jounin taking … um ...oh my god…Haru and Sakura’s squad to a prison cell it looks like.” Nayoto answered. “We need to help them.” Koji said. “Usually I would say no but since we cant head back to the village without them then fine.” Sasuke said. They followed the hidden mist jounin to the prison area. As soon as the jounin left koji looked inside the cell block. “Not good. Two mist honor guards. One has a staff on his back the other a sword on his belt.” Koji explained. “Okay plan is I take one and you and Nayoto take the other.” Sasuke said. “Okay.” Koji and Nayoto said in unison. They busted into the cell block and sasuke attacked the one honor guard with the staff on his back. Sasuke got a hold on the staff and was able to keep the guard from using it then sasuke let go of it to say “water clone jutsu!” Now there were two Sasukes. While one kept hold of the staff the other drew a kunai. The guard let one hand fall from the staff in time to catch the kunai. That was when the other sasuke wrenched the staff out of the guard’s hands and used it to knock the guard out. Mean while koji and Nayoto had there hands full. When the guard drew his sword so did koji and Nayoto drew a kunai knife. The guard slashed downwards at Koji’s feet then at Nayoto's right hand. Koji blocked and so did Nayoto then. Then before the guard could strike again koji slashed at the guard’s neck. Then Nayoto threw his kunai at the guard. The blocked it with his sword while quickly turning around to block Kojis slash at his knees. Finally Nayoto threw three shurikens at the guard. The guard turned to block them when koji sliced the back of the guard’s neck open. They then unlocked two cells that had prisoners. One had Haru and Sakura’s squad. The other had Kakashi Hatake in it. “Kakashi sensei it is nice to see you again.” Sasuke said. “You to sasuke now then don’t you have a mission to finish?” Kakashi said. “Yes sakura take Haru and your cell back to the village and tell Naruto to send more chunin and jounin to help. Kakashi go with them to protect them.” Sasuke ordered. Kitsura and koji enjoyed a brief hug then said goodbye to each other. “Koji, Nayoto follow me.” Sasuke said. They soon reached the throne room of the Mizu-Kage. They entered the door and prepared for battle. Koji drew his sword. Nayoto and sasuke both drew shurikens and kunai. “So finally you made it to me.” A voice said. “Third Mizu-Kage you are either under arrest or about to die.” Sasuke said. “Ill use the third option your lives taken by me!” the Mizu-Kage yelled. “Phoenix fire ball jutsu!” sasuke yelled. “Wait I have questions I need to ask him.” Koji’s voice yelled as sasuke shot a fireball at the Mizu-Kage. “No we have to kill him. Plus what ever you need to ask him is probably in the records here.” Sasuke said. “Fine but let me help more then just sitting here on the side lines.” Koji said. “Boar dog monkey bird sheep! Summoning jutsu!” koji yelled. Now koji had a dragon underneath him. “Come on Chinora we have a battle to win.” Koji said to the dragon. “Fine but you owe me.” Chinora said in a powerful deep voice. “I know the usual one human soul. If we win you’ll get it.” Koji said. Hm. From what Jeriah told me that’s how Oruchi Maru’s snake worked. at least until Oruchi Maru was killed three years back. Sasuke said. “Me to.” Nayoto said. “Boar dog monkey bird sheep! Summoning jutsu!” Nayoto yelled. Once again chief toad was back. “Come on chief let’s do this.” Nayoto yelled. “Fine but you owe me payment also. Oh and Chinora your cousin is dead I’m sorry to have to tell you that.” Chief toad said in his raspy voice. “Fine if we are all summoning here. Boar dog monkey bird sheep! Summoning jutsu!” said the Mizu-Kage. Now there was a wolf in the room. A large wolf. “Say hello to Crekingin.” The Mizu-Kage said. “Ranuka you know not to summon me unless we can win the battle but ill fight if you double my fee.” Crekingin said in a mystic deep voice. “I know I don’t send fifty mist ninja to the chunin exams.” Ranuka said. “Toad fire ball!” Nayoto yelled. The wolf moved with the ferocity and speed of a cheetah. “Snake dog boar dragon sheep tiger! Deathly howl!” Ranuka yelled. A blast of sound waves that could make you go deaf screamed out of Crekingin. Quickly chief toad and Chinora moved out of the way. “Sasuke get on!” Nayoto yelled. “Dragon ram rat serpent tiger! Dragon ice claws!” Koji yelled. Chinora swooped down and ripped his newly ice covered claws through Crekingin. Crekingin then ran over to where chief toad was and sank its teeth into his skin. Then chief toad drew his katana and cut into Crekingin’s fur. “Sheep bird monkey dog boar tiger rabbit! Repulsion jutsu!” Ranuka yelled. Then Ranuka drew some of his blood and mixed it with Crekingin’s. Suddenly all the animals disappeared. “So did you like my new jutsu?” Ranuka asked. “I don’t.” koji answered. That was when they noticed that the Mizu-Kage was back on his throne. They also picked up that there were two staircases leading to the throne. “Koji stay here incase he tries to escape.” Sasuke said. Then sasuke and Nayoto flanked the throne. Nayoto went up one side when Ranuka appeared on that side. “Sharingan!” Nayoto yelled. “Hmp. Giant vortex jutsu!” Ranuka yelled. The vortex hit Nayoto then slammed him against the wall and knocked him out. The when sasuke reached the middle of his flight of stairs Ranuka appeared. “Sharingan!” sasuke yelled. “Another one copy this! Ox tiger ox tiger! Water dragon bullet!” Ranuka yelled. Sasuke couldn’t copy fast enough and was hit and knocked out by the water dragon bullet. Now koji was the last one left. “Water sword!” Ranuka yelled. “I have no need for fake swords.” Koji said while jumping up to the Mizu-Kage’s throne and drawing his sword named Kinosho. Quickly koji cut through Ranuka’s water sword and had Ranuka backed against the wall. “Now then how did my father die?” koji asked sword raised for the kill. “It w-was in the e-exam t-to become j-jou-jounin. I had to fight him to the death.” Ranuka answered. “Thank you.” Koji said. Then koji spun his sword around in a flourish and cut strait through Ranuka’s head. Soon mist ninja showed up and took Nayoto and sasuke to the infirmary. Within two days they were ready to leave and Sakura’s squad had returned with leaf ninja. “Well it looks like we get to go on that date Kitsura.” Koji said. “I guess so.” Kitsura answered. They soon left for the leaf village but before that the mist ninja asked how to repay them. Every body said no payment was necessary. But as every body else walked away koji asked for some thing special that no one else knew he wanted. Unfortunately when they got back to the leaf village though they were met with disaster. Nayoto’s father died of a heart attack when he found out that Nayoto was on a b-rank mission. It was also caused by very spicy chicken.

Chapter five: chunin recommendations

“Nayoto I know that this time is hard for you but until we finish the funeral arrangements you need to stay somewhere else. Go stay with a really good friend of yours.” Sasuke said. “Okay sasuke sensei. I will do anything that makes this go faster and get the next mission on track.” Nayoto said. Then he left to find his best friend. His friend was sitting in the library in the section restricted for ninja. Nayoto noticed that the boy had a book entitled secrets of the mist village and its kekie genkie. “I’m so happy I found you koji. I have to ask you something.” Nayoto said. “Fine what it is?” Koji asked. “Well sasuke said that for the funeral arrangements to go by faster that I should stay with a friend. So I was wondering if I could stay with you.” Nayoto said. “Fine but only because you’re my friend and sasuke recommended it.” Koji said. “Okay ill get my stuff and meet you where?” Nayoto asked. “Meet me here with all the stuff you’ll need.” Koji said. “okay.” Nayoto said. Within ten minutes Nayoto was back. “Okay let’s get to my house.” Koji said. On the way there they passed the orphanage. “Hey isn’t that where you live?” Nayoto asked when they passed it by. “No I have an apartment.” Koji answered. “oh.” Nayoto said feeling dumb. They soon reached Koji’s apartment. “Well here we are.” Koji said. “Oh it doesn’t look like other leaf apartments.” Nayoto commented. “Well when we left the mist village I asked if they could do this for me. So they set it up like a mist village apartment. Plus were going to see mist ninja at the chunin exams this year.” Koji explained. Soon koji had pulled out the extra bed and got the extra blanket and pillow. “Well I’m going back to the library to finish up my research and here’s your key to keep until you move out.” Koji said. “Okay and if it’s okay with you I’m going to go talk to sasuke.” Nayoto said. That night Nayoto was still awake when koji came in. soon though Nayoto fell asleep. In the middle of the night Nayoto woke up and noticed Koji’s strange sleeping habits. Koji slept with his back propped up against the wall. He also didn’t wear a shirt and only wore covers up to his waist. He also noticed that koji kept the window open and a cup of ice water near his bed. The next morning they woke up and got ready for the day. Nayoto for the first time noticed that Koji’s hair had grown to where it stopped half way down his back. Koji quickly put his hair up like a pony tail and then put on his lucky uniform. Then Nayoto took a shower and got into his usual clothes of blue unbuttoned jacket black shirt and blue pants. They then left to meet up with sasuke and Haru. “Okay I’m happy to say that because of your performance on that last mission Naruto has allowed you to go to the chunin exams.” Sasuke said. “Here are the consent forms. Also starting tomorrow you each will have a separate teacher to help prepare you for the chunin exams. They have already been chosen by me and Naruto.” Sasuke said. “So tomorrow koji you will meet up with me. Nayoto you luckily got Naruto. And Haru you have Kakashi as your teacher.” sasuke told them all. “Now then there is nothing else for today and also if all three of you don’t register then none of you can take the exams.” Sasuke said. They all left to go and do their own separate things. Koji went to go meet up with Kitsura. “Kit are you still in training?” Koji yelled towards the area where Sakura’s squad met. “Yes she is koji.” Sakura’s voice answered. Koji walked out of the bushes to explain himself. “Don’t worry koji I was about to dismiss them anyway. And guys you are all able to take the chunin exams but remember if one of you doesn’t register none of you get in.” sakura said. “Now then get out of here.” Sakura yelled. “Hey so kit ready to go get some ramen?” Koji asked. “Yes Koji.” Kitsura said. They soon headed over to the ramen shop ran by the owner of Koji’s apartment. “So Koji what will it be today?” the man asked. “Just two bowls of ramen and some chicken dumplings Nakra.” Koji said. “Coming right up for my best customer and only guy always on time for his rent.” Nakra said. “And hey Nakra will Nayoto sharing a room with me for the week cost extra?” koji asked. “For anyone else yes but for you no.” Nakra said. “Okay thank you.” Koji said while taking the food and paying Nakra the money. “So you have your own apartment?” Kitsura asked. “Yeah I got it when I became a gennin.” Koji answered. Meanwhile……… Nayoto was waiting patiently for his meeting with Naruto to begin. While yes this was last minute Naruto didn’t have anything planned for the next three months. Finally Naruto walked in. “so Nayoto what did you want?” Naruto asked. “Just why was I picked to be trained by you?” Nayoto asked. “Because I want to see you get past Koji and his unfair advantage. Plus I know jutsus Koji will probably never learn.” Naruto answered. “Oh well whenever you want to start my training I’m ready.” Nayoto said. At the exact same time……… Haru went home and slept. The next day they all showed for there new training sessions with there separate teachers. “Okay sasuke sensei what are you going to teach me today?” Koji asked. “First off just call me sasuke. And second you are going to learn the Chidori level two.” sasuke said. Sasuke quickly went through the hand signs and explained how to do the Chidori. Then he told koji not to ask for more training until he could do the Chidori. Koji went over the hand signs time after time and then started to add on the charka. Soon he could do a Chidori. “Okay now what?” Koji asked. “You already mastered that?” Sasuke said in amazement. “Yep and if you have nothing else to teach me I’m going to the library to read up on my kekie genkie.” Koji said. “Well I have nothing else planned for today cause that should have taken you a while.” Sasuke said. “Okay I’m going to the library.” Koji said. At Nayoto’s training session……… “Naruto where are we going?” Nayoto asked. “We are going to the library.” Naruto answered. “Why?” Nayoto asked. “Because we need to read up on Koji’s kekie genkie.” Naruto said. “Oh but in the chunin exams I thought we were on a team.” Nayoto commented. “For the first two exams yes but the third one you’ll be pitted against other ninja all by your self.” Naruto explained. “Oh but there is only one book on Koji’s kekie genkie and he comes to the library every day just to read that book.” Nayoto told Naruto. “Then we will read it fast.” Naruto said. They quickly found the book in the ninja section. Naruto then opened it to the table of contents and found the page that contained information on how to defeat Koji’s kekie genkie. Naruto read aloud, “to defeat this kekie genkie first have a fast eye and an even faster body. Know many jutsus as this kekie genkie unlocks jutsus the user may have never seen before but knows how to use perfectly. The fast tactic is mainly for the secret jutsu ice crystal mirrors. To defeat the rest of the jutsu fight the user away from water.” “Okay we now know that but now can I learn some new jutsus?” Nayoto asked impatiently. “Sure come with me.” Naruto said. They quickly went to the nearest forest and Naruto said, “Now watch this.” Naruto then formed a blue ball of charka in his hand. Then he let it grow. Then he slammed it against a tree. When his hand moved away there was a hole in the tree. “Wow how did you do that?” Nayoto asked. “First things first. Here take this don’t pop it.” Naruto said while pulling a water balloon out his bag. “Now then try to get the water in this balloon to go around in a circle.” Naruto said. “okay.” Nayoto said. “And you can leave the forest this is your training for today.” Naruto said. At Haru’s training session though……… “Okay Haru. You already know Chidori levels one through six. I’m going to teach you Chidori level seven. Basically this is level six but with a Chidori on both hands.” Kakashi explained. Then he showed Haru the hand signs to perform this jutsu. Soon Haru was on his way to mastering the Chidori level seven. That night when Koji got home he had hid library book with him. Koji noticed that Nayoto was sitting there with a water balloon. “What are you doing?” Koji asked in a annoyed confused voice. “It’s to learn a new technique Naruto is showing me.” Nayoto explained. “Oh well don’t mind me I’m just going to study up on my kekie genkie.” Koji said. Within two hours they both fell asleep. For the next week till the chunin exam started the gennin trained like crazy with there new sensei.

Chapter six: chunin exam one tensions start to build

The day for the first chunin exam and registration was ready. Koji and Nayoto quickly woke up got dressed and met Haru at the prearranged meeting place. They then took off to register. After registering they went to the room where the first exam would take place. As soon as they walked in they were confronted by the other gennin. “Well lookie here the hidden mist freak.” Hiroka said. “You know Hiroka you should have learned by now not to insult Koji. Especially not with all the other mist ninja here. Remember they respect him and his kekie genkie.” Hiru said. “Yeah Hiroka Koji is a good guy when you get to know him.” Kitsura said. “You’re just saying that cause you like him.” Hiroka said. “And what if she is?” Koji asked. “Why do you care? Besides I don’t think you’ll fight me. Not after what I did to you in that practice exam.” Hiroka said. “I seem to remember Koji beating you.” Nayoto said. That was when the final rookie gennin squad showed up. This squad contained Shickaranu Hara. Shickaranu wore the same exact clothes as his father. Grey shorts. A grey unbuttoned jacket with a fishnet shirt underneath. His father was Shickamaru and his mother was Tenten. Next was Inoka Akimichi. Her father was Chouji and his mother was Ino Yamanaka. He also wore what his father wore. A green jacket with a white shirt on underneath and blue shorts. Finally there was Sarazeme Uzumaki. His father was Naruto and his mother was Hinata. “So the gang is all here. Even our little boy kunoichi.” Shickaranu said. “Hey I just defeated the Mizu-Kage two weeks back. If it weren’t for these exams I would be a chunin already.” Koji said. “Plus the only reason Koji had to take the place of that last kunoichi is because she didn’t pass.” Kitsura said. “Besides without Koji our team wouldn’t be as good as it is.” Haru said. “Who cares hidden mist ninja are weak and can’t stop a leaf ninja at full power. Just ask Kakashi.” Hiroka said. Suddenly a mist ninja walked up. “Hello you must be the one called Koji and you other two are Nayoto and Haru. I am Kinhag Nunaraku. I came to say thank you and also to tell that boy, I think you called him Hiroka, that if he wants to fight a mist ninja I would be happy to let him.” Kinhag said. “Oh well thank you but I don’t remember your name in the mist files.” Koji said. “Oh they never got time to write it down. These are my teammates Linagy and Hasdy.” Kinhag said as his teammates walked up. “Well good luck at the exams.” Koji said. The three ninja walked over to their table and sat with the other mist ninja. That was when Nayoto noticed something. “Hey look at those ninja over there they have on sound village headbands. Naruto said that they were banned from the chunin exams after the attack they used ten years ago.” Nayoto said. “Hm. Naruto must have let the remnants of the sound village in. I mean mist is finally back so let’s having all the ninja villages.” Koji said. That was when a puff of smoke at the front of the room caught everyone’s attention. “Okay quiet down the first exam is about to begin.” said a voice through the smoke. “For those of you who don’t know me I am Kakashi Hatake. I will be your proctor for the first exam. Now then come turn in your registration forms and get your test and seat number.” Kakashi said. Soon they all had seats and were ready for the test. Koji was a row in front of Nayoto and two rows in front of Haru. Kitsura was one seat over. Soon Kakashi explained the rules. They only had ten points and lost two points for every time they were caught cheating. They would be given the tenth question ten minutes before the test ended. “Okay now you can turn your test over.” Kakashi said. Soon they were well into the test and doing well. It wasn’t until the fifth question that Koji couldn’t answer anymore. They don’t want us to cheat yet the deductions are so little that……… wait a second Sasuke warned me that this test was so that way they could see how well we could steal information. Hm my secret jutsu requires me to be faster than the human eye. I’ll just use that. Koji thought. Quickly Koji ran through out the classroom without being spotted getting the answers to question six through nine. Hm. Now I can sit back until they give out the tenth question. Koji thought. Maybe I can use my kekie genkie to copy his movements. Nayoto thought. “sharingan.” Nayoto whispered. Then he started copying the movements of the grass ninja in front of him. Soon he also had all the answers. I’ll just look through him to see his test answers. Haru thought. “byokugon.” Haru whispered. Haru now could relax and was ready for the final question. Finally the minutes ticked away and Kakashi wrote the tenth question on the board. Koji Nayoto and Haru all knew the answer to this one without even cheating. Soon the test was over and they were all dismissed. Once they left the room Sasuke’s squad went to get some ramen. “So Nayoto when is yours father funeral cause you haven’t moved out of my apartment yet.” Koji asked. “It’s in one day since they gave us the weekend to rest.” Nayoto said. “Besides I plan on getting an apartment of my own in this place.” Nayoto commented. “Okay but you need to have your rent in on time for the owner to like you.” Koji said. “I know and I will.” Nayoto commented. “Don’t look now but here comes Kitsura and Hiru.” Haru said. “Hey Kitsura!” Koji yelled. “Oh hey Koji.” Kitsura said. “So you two aren’t celebrating with your squad?” Nayoto asked. “What and celebrate with that slime ball named Hiroka? I think not.” Hiru said. “Oh well you two can join us.” Haru said. “Sorry but me and Kitsura have a date tonight.” Koji said. “I’ll stay.” Hiru said. Soon Koji and Kitsura made it to the forest where Koji unloaded the food and blanket. They both ate and then sat and talked. “Koji I bought you something.” Kitsura said. “Oh what is it?” Koji asked. “It’s a book I know you like Nayoto told me so. I bought it at the library.” Kitsura said. She handed Koji the book who read the title and immediately hugged Kitsura. The name of the book was secrets of the hidden mist village and its kekie genkie. Then Koji said, “I have a gift for you also. Close your eyes.” Kitsura closed her eyes. then koji pulled down his mask and suddenly was sharing a full on kiss with Kitsura. “Oh um that was unexpected.” Kitsura said in a shy and shaky voice. They both enjoyed the kiss but knew that for the first time kisser it would always be awkward. Soon the date was over and they went home. The next day was Nayoto’s father’s funeral. They told stories and expressed their feelings. Koji even said that Nayoto’s father was like a father he never had. Every body was dressed in full black. After it was over Nayoto told his mother that he was getting an apartment in the same building as Koji. His mother didn’t want him to but knew he would be protected in an emergency. Soon it was time for the second chunin exam and time to weed out the weak.
